LIFE IS LONG
LESS THAN DEATH
YOU WILL FIND AFTER DEATH
WE ARE SOIL
SO, WILL GO ON SOIL
WILL GO IN SOIL
YOU HAVE TIME YET
SO, DO YOUR BEST
TELL THE WORLD, WHO ARE YOU
IF YOU WANT THEY REMEMBER YOU
DO THOSE THINGS WHICH OTHER'S CAN'T DO
THINK FOR OTHERS
DO FOR THEM
WHICH THEY CAN'T THINK
WHICH THEY CAN'T DO
HELP OTHERS YOU WILL NOT DIE
YOU WILL DIE BUT YOUR NAME WILL ALIVE
(GOHAR SHAH)

It is narrated by a man who lives in a society where a chip is planted in everyone's brain at birth. It is as powerful as a human brain and parallels his life experience until he reaches the age where the natural brain would start to deteriorate. At that point an operation is performed in which the brain is removed and the individual lives on in the chip. In this way individuals achieve virtual immortality at their best stage of brain function.
The narrator is approaching the time of the operation and is fearful of dying. That is what he assumes will happen when his brain is removed. He is forced to have the operation against his objections. Afterwards he wakes up and, in doing so, realizes that he is the chip.

Odd habit of mine at book fairs: if I couldn't find what I was looking for, I'd buy one book that just "caught my eye". I've found some rubbish, but have a nice shelf of "odd books" with peculiar or unlikely titles. What have other people discovered in this category?
I can recommend "The Social History of the Machine Gun"
And "Scalded to Death by the Steam."

My cousin recommended it, but as I'm not a big Three Musketeer fanatic, I don't know if I'd like it or not.

I've been working on a story for a few weeks about an Assassin, and I'm trying to come up with a prayer or something of that sort he could say before each hit. Mentally, I'm drawing a blank myself, but hopefully someone out there can help me out. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.
