Authors get paid by how much there books sell and the agreement with your publisher. If you become a huge author like JK Rowling the. . .She is pulling in over 100 dollars a minute!

Salary for an author is one big fat Zero. Authors are not paid a salary. They are paid for what they produce. An established author may receive an advance from a publishing house under a contract which requires the author to produce a finished manuscript, but that is, in effect, a partial payment of what he would receive at the end.

An author does not receive a salary. The amount of money you earn is based on the sales of your book and the agreement you made with your publisher.

There is no salary for an author. He get royalty on the books he writes. Unless you author best seller books, you are probably working on less than the minimum wages.

are you kidding me . They make jack. I know people who get screwed. This one person I know, his books sells for a $100.00 get gets .50 cents per book.You're better sticking with a newspaper. If you're in it for the money
