I'm not sure why you'd want to. Most wood is made of cellulose (fiber) which you cannot digest anyway. Some barks have healthy compounds in them, but others are toxic. The only plants we eat the woody part of are canes (i.e. sugarcane), but again, it's basically just glucose (sugar) and cellulose.

That would be helpful if lost in the woods...I'm sure you can eat some types without any side effects, maybe the maple? But I'm sure you can't just indiscriminately eat wood, some of it has to be toxic, otherwise we'd eat it more often!

Ypu can eat it, but humans lack the capacity to digest cellulosis.

you can eat bamboo... i THINK there are SOME woods you can eat but would you want too???
people eat pine nuts.. so it probably true
