If s/he doesn't already have it, "Agent of Byzantium" by H T himself is great.

"A Choice of Destinies", by Melissa Scott, offers a history where Alexander the Great moved WEST, against Rome, not East into India.

"The Two Georges", by actor Richard Dreyfuss and HT (again), is a modern world where Washington was a 'traitor' to the tiny group set on removing North America - including Canada, but not, still Russian-owned, Alaska - from the British Empire. I think I'd like to live there - although there are a few inconsistencies! [But, s/he probably has it!]

There are lots of alternate history fiction out there to read. Eric flint has several - "1635: Canon Law", "1812: The Rivers of War", etc. David Weber and S.M. Stirling are also authors in that genre. If you go to BN.com, click "Browse Books", then under Science Fiction click "more", one of the first choices of subgenres is alternate history fiction - and there is plenty to choose from so you can get a similar time period if your friend has a preference.

"Island in the Sea of Time" by S.M. Stirling

It's great. AND Harry Turtledove thinks it's great, too: "one of the best time travel/alternative history stories I've ever read," quoth he. So if she likes Turtledove and he likes Stirling, it should be right up your friend's alley.

Since Harry was not brought up in a proper way, he goofed off with Ron most of the time instead of spending time with Hermione at Hogwarts. Ginny may have slipped Harry a love potion, or else Harry wouldn't be kissing her without thinking when she threw her arms around him.
