I've been working on a story for a few weeks about an Assassin, and I'm trying to come up with a prayer or something of that sort he could say before each hit. Mentally, I'm drawing a blank myself, but hopefully someone out there can help me out. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Let me not hate, let me not feel anger.
Let me not rejoice in the what I have to do.
Let my hand be steady and my eye true,
Let my target not suffer.
Let me deal death quickly,
and find healing in the chapel of pines.
Let the birdsong absolve me,
and the forest pool wash me clean again.

(on a personal aside...sniper, that sounds awfully like a prayer my son carried in iraq)

Father, help me this day by calming my fears.
Guide my thoughts and my actions
Empty my heart of any hatred and anger.
Teach me thy ways and let my feet be slow to wander.
Guard my being and my fellow troops in harms way.
As I take this task given to me this day,
Let it be with good intentions, without malice towards the enemy,
but to fight the evil at hand.
Let not my heart be filled with pride,
Let not my lips speak boastfully.
Let me serve my duty and my faith without waiver or hesitation.
Let my soul be prepared to meet you today, if that is your will.
Amen
