It would be fruitless to put someone's corpse on trial but that's what happened in the late 9th and early 10th century. Pope Stephen VI put his predecessor, Pope Formosus, on trial for some alleged wrongdoing and declared him guilty.

But what was the point of putting someone's dead body on trial (known as the Cadaver Synod)? They wouldn't be able to answer.

Still, I find this little tidbit of history interesting.

Is a dream an event? When we speak about a witness account of an event, we presume the event is one thing at the witnessing another. But the witnessing of a dream IS the dream. This occured to me way back when I was watching the OJ Simpson trial and one of his dreams was being discussed. Can something be said to have happened if there was only one witness to it and no possible verification outside that?

Hot and noisy...the aircraft rolls down the runway...to lift us to the sky...we are as close to heaven as we can get in this world...30,000 feet...as we descend we feel the weight of the world begin to enter our souls again...I look at my comrades and smile...my brothers...my friends.....the doors open and the light goes green....I laugh, always thought it should be red....headed for hell....we go.....a sea of silk floats down....then nothing...we deploy...quiet...too quiet...the world erupts into a cacaphony of sound....small arms....grenades..running now...adrenaline pumping...first one goes down....then another...I reach for my brother and drag him to cover..surreal now...dreamlike...DOC!!!...MAN DOWN!!!!..I feel his hand clutching mine...I let go...have to move....we get online and advance..the noise subsides...we have quieted the dragon for now..he is sated...and at the end...I see my brothers..living and dead...and a single tear falls to the dust at my feet. Rest well My brothers

If you tell your staff to follow such a standard, aren't you also saying "perception is everything". So the "office psychopath"-in-training will simply give the perception that everything works. Too bad if your organisation is trusted to produce safety-critical systems.

(cso = programmer)

Ideally there would have been people at CSO grade 5 level who could be invited back to our test site to witness important demonstrations.

But such people didn't seem to exist.

I LOVE writing, mainly teen fiction, is my BIG specialty. I think it's fun to read, and those quirky and awkward situations in teen love really spark my interest. I'm inspired by songs, pictures, anything. What can I do though, to help me become an author? Help!?!?!

I have this poem I have to write for a project. Keep in mind that I am only 13 and it doesn't have to be ABSOLUTELY perfect, but a little FRIENDLY criticism would be appreciated. Don't answer if you're just gonna be rude.

There is a place,
Beyond the sky,
Through the stars,
Beyond the moon.

There is a place,
Under the sea,
Among the starfish,
Surrounded by seaweed.

There is a place,
In the twinkle of your eye,
Or in a child's laughter,
Where any and all is possible.

There is a place,
It can be captured,
Only with the mind's eye,
As a sweet thought.

There is a place,
Sound familiar?
It lives in each of us,
Becoming our sanctuary.

There is a place,
And a way to get there,
But alas!
Most cannot.

There is a place,
You must find,
Your heart must serve,
As your compass.

There is a place,
It is not North,
Nor South,
Not East,
Or West.

There is a place,
That you shall find,
In your own good time,
And it shall lead to happiness.

so cliche the whole love thing,
doll house home,diamond wedding ring,
happy photo album and a new born baby too,
let me tell you hunny, i think i love you!
sit upon my lap girl, come and talk to me,
let's begin planning our perfect family,
a cat,two dogs,and a cheeky cockatoo
let me tell you sweety, i think i love you!
we can settle down sweet, create a perfect life,
im your rich husband, your my pretty wife,
our kids have grown up, settled down too,
but let me tell you darlin', i think i love you!
look at what we did girl, isn't life fine,
lying in the grass and sipping back wine,
looking back now i know my feelings were true,
i hope you know baby...I think i love you!

i was bored soooo i wrote this, i know its not perfect:) i only spent about 15 mins on it after all, but let me know what you think:)... its supposed to have a kind of sing-song rhythm as oppose to a poetic kind of tone
