Hi, I write poetry. Recently I was at a gathering and one of the women there was referred to as an artist. She paints faux pas and does interior decorating. She does one stroke painting which I thought to be more like arts and crafts. When others ask about my hobbies and I mention poetry, it's called writing to them. But I thought true art was any form where you pour out your soul and has depth.

What is arts/crafts and what is fine art?

For the services of its staff and pupils in a military conflict, one (and only one) High School was granted the right to a flag with Battle Honours by the British Crown.
"Battle Honours" in the British Commonwealth are the equivalent of a Unit Citation in some other countries.

What school ... and why?

I really want to start acting and learn how I can get better, but I don't know how to start off? I'm 16 right now and I think I'm a pretty okay actress...but the only theatrical thing I've done in my life is the Christmas play at my church when I was 6. I'd love to be in a movie someday. I know I can't just expect everything to go my way in the beginning, so I want to equip myself with the tools of the trade, if you will. Where's the best place to start?

( I know this isn't the right category for this question, but it happens alot in the history category.)
and then not vote for best answer ? Do you know when you ask a question and then pick a best answer , you get 3 points ?
It's frustrating to take the time to research a question and type it , then no one picks a best answer, it goes to vote and someone that didn't even answer the question correctly can get best answer by telling friends to vote for their answer.
You would get more and better response's if you pick a best answer.

Love must be the most commonly refered to emotion and ideal across every culture and creed. but who can say what it is? everyone has their own ideas of course, but can there be a universal definition? or are we bound by our personal preferences? is there a such thing as Universal Love, or is it completely subjective? is there more than one kind of Love or are the different appearences of Love just reflections of one core beingness of Love?

basically my question is what is Love to you, how do you define it and how does it work in your life?

interested in all types of answers, serious, sarcastic, atheist, christian, satanist, pagan, wiccan, diest, muslum, buddhst, hindu, shinto etc etc... ill try and choose the best one based on most universal application :)

A statement is analytic if it is true by definition:
All bachelors are unmarried.

A statement is synthetic if it is true only by experience:
All bachelors are wild.

Apparently many philosophers think all statements can be easily put into one of the categories, but others believe that it is indeterminate. I believe it is indeterminate as well, but can't think of any actual examples, heh.

So anyone know any examples or wanna give it a try?

I bought the large tubes of the DaVinci brand for my basic colors that I will use often.

But now I need the following colors below, and I realized that I only have 4 or 5 water color classes left and I don't want to spend a lot of money, because I don't have a lot to spend...at all. Maybe I should just by hues (fake colors).....
So here are the colors...any recommendations?

Thalo blue (also called windsor blue)
Thalo green
Alizarin crimson
Cadmium red light
Aquamarine blue
Cerulean blue

without using the word single or any synonyms of it. Also, steer clear of the word "individidual" since it's definition also involves knowing what single and one are.

I've asked several people around me and no one can define it clearly without getting trapped in the circle of one = single.

If you use any other numbers in your definition, than you're relying on the definition of one already being understood since all numbers or quantities higher than one are based on one.
