You absolutely start with training. Get your parents permission and support because you can't do anything without them. Then get into classes. Ideally acting, voice lessons and dance. Then start auditioning for theatre. When you've been doing that for a while and have a few roles on your resume, you can try adding student and indie films.
Check out backstage.com (casting search) and actorsaccess.com. If those sites don't have much of anything for your area, try searching for your state's film commissions alliances, etc. Search for your state name and the word film and see what comes up. Search those sites for class and casting info. Backstage and actorsaccess are not free but are completely legit. If mom and dad are wary have them check into it further, look at my past answers, or message me for me info.
good luck!

So when I was 16 I never thought how much I would love acting, I was really shy and stuff in the begining. I did get dragged into a begining theater class at 15 though, so it started my unconditional love of the craft.I'm not doing any right now, but this is how I first started with myacting days, and my friends started basically the same way and they are like, superstars now, lol.
First, get in that first acting class. Take it and embrace it. Love what your doing, don't be afraid of looking silly... cuz in many cases you do. But so are the other people on stage, so don't feel bad about it.
Next, take another more advacned class. if you have the means, take a comedy sprtz class too, it's fun as hell and you get to give and take from other experienced actors.
Now, if you feel you've learned a fair amount, go take some really good head shots and write up your resume. At this point, you've done one play? And hopefully the school play, so put those on there... along with name, ambitions, any tech experience, ect. On the back of this is where you're head shot will og. Remember this is uaually black and white, just down to your shoulders, min make-up and just how you normally look. Smile pretty!
Now audition for your school play or community play... an actual play, not a general xmas pagent or anything. Shakespeare always looks good on your resume. If you aren;t ready quite yet, I would definaltey suggest being on the tech (behind the scenes) crew and seeing how the whole production process works.
I think at this point you will be ready to start auditioning at small theater companies. Build up your resume before you go to the bigger companies.
Something you really have to rememebr too: acting in a stage play, acting in a musical, and acting on screen are so totally different. Keep on taking different acting classes, learn all you can! Different teachers will have different styles, NEVER assume you know it all cuz you got the lead in your last production. Be down to earth and charm the hell out of your directors.
NEVER sleep with them, nothing can ruin your career more or faster . You would be most professional to stay away from co-worker as well, thats actors AND tech crews. Believe me... lol.
It's an exciting world and you learn SO much. it's a roit, just keep your head straight and keep building that resume. Have fun!!!

Take Drama class at school, try out for the School play.
Check your community theater. Check with the local Children's theater. Most take kids up to age 18 - a lot of the children's theaters will cast everyone who auditions.
Dont expect a big part right away - almost everyone gets an ensemble part the first time out. Go to all rehersals, volunteer to help backstage or building sets. Help with load in - there is a lot you can do to learn what it takes in the theater world.

Take acting classes. Try to locate an agent in your area. Even if you aren't in California or New York there are probably local agents for commercials and things like that. Do not pay anyone to be your agent. Do not buy expensive photographs to send out. Find someplace reasonable. Acting classes are your best bet. If your high school offers them then take some, get involved in drama at your school. Good luck. I teach drama at school and one of my students just booked a commercial...through no help from me but he does well in my class and he's a cute kid.

try to take drama in high school. If they dont offer this at your school find one that does. When you graduate high school take the ARTs is college. They offer drama classes. It really depends on where you live. There are modeling agencies that assist you with trying out for TV and Movies spots but many are scams. THey lead people to believe that your going to be a huge success and desire hundreds for photo shoots and zed cards (modeling cards with your pics) In california there are many agencies that deal with hollywood producing companies. Start out small by auditioning for commercials. Many actors and actresses were in commercials and were discovered on these. good luck

Join the drama club. Also search for independent filmmakers in your area. You could do this on myspace.com. then be on the lookout for casting calls or email them to let them know you would be interested in a part. Be sure and have your parents involved in going to any casting call - you don't want to be taken advantage of.
Make resume that lists your attributes and acting experience.
Take acting lessons.
Find other friends interested in acting and make short movies at home to hone your craft.

have more acting backgrounds by starting off from an acting workshop or something, then let people there recommend you to the other people they know on which plays or musicals (and even movies) they'd be needing you.
but on my own experience, i started off from the backstage..;)
