As I look upon the lawn
I feel an urge but start to yawn
I know the grass is getting high
But what the hell, it soon will die

My wife said, its cause I am lazy
With all this talk it drives me crazy
So why don’t you go out and shop
And to my chair my feet I’ll plop

And then they’ll be more time for beer
I asked for one, go get it dear
I guess she didn’t think it funny
She called me names, it wasn’t honey

And then I said that it won’t start
But she tore that all apart
Because our mower is so old
It takes no gas, you push it cold

So in the end a compromise
She liked the thought to my surprise
I’ll go out and rent a mower
About once a week, his name is Noah

I'm writing short stories and I need some new ideas from the real life. Because I'm run out of ideas...and adventures as well. So, if you are willing to share a bit of your story, go ahead! Thanks

It seems so many questions focus on happiness. Are we just looking for a feeling that we can get from a pill?

what type of poem is this
The Faces of Fire
© By Kaitlynne L. Birkett

The fire sprints across the plain,
it's breath destroying
all in it's path.
Destructive.
It's red tongue
laps up the brush,
leaving behind only ashes.
Yet miles away,
the fire sits calmly
warming
a cold family's hands.
It is their solace
for all the pain.
The fire burns
in the family's hearts,
angered by their loss.
It dances and leaps,
yet in the end,
always dies.

liek is it a ode or a ballad or a limerick etc.....?

What am I talking about?

For example: We Humans remember when something has caused us pain. This memory of pain is necessary for self-preservation. It keeps us from repeating actions that cause physical harm. But, from a *psychological* perspective, the memory of pain causes more damage than the pain itself. So, it seems that evolution discounts emotion, yet we revere it. Your thoughts?

[ I’m interested in evolutionary, psychological, and philosophical viewpoints, but I’m also perfectly willing to accept straight opinion. :-) ]

I feel that the distribution of sorrow and happiness is equal to all humanbeings invariable of rich, poor, good, bad, believer or non-believer.

Vice is a monster of so frightful mien
As to be hated needs but to be seen;
Yet seen too oft, familiar with her face,
We first endure, then pity, then embrace

I'm not looking for you to paraphrase, but more your opinion or analysis of the point he makes. Most interesting response gets 10 points.
