( I know this isn't the right category for this question, but it happens alot in the history category.)
and then not vote for best answer ? Do you know when you ask a question and then pick a best answer , you get 3 points ?
It's frustrating to take the time to research a question and type it , then no one picks a best answer, it goes to vote and someone that didn't even answer the question correctly can get best answer by telling friends to vote for their answer.
You would get more and better response's if you pick a best answer.

I've often wondered that myself. Here's a list of possibilities I've come up with: The person posting the question dies, has a computer melt down, has their internet service discontinued,is involved in a crisis and doesn't go to YA for a while,or gets kicked out of YA.Those are the kind explanations. I think most of the time people don't pick a best answer because they don't get any answers they like or too many vague answers or link posts, and just abandon the question. I've noticed questions posted by young people (homework, how should I do my eyeshadow) often do not follow up with a best pick.

I am not sure. I know that I like getting a best answer for being picked by the writer rather then the vote. I think I always pick an answer, as best when I write a question.

What I find worse is someone like (R. Gyle) who uses fake id's to write the same question over and over again, then as R. Gyle anwers them and then he is picked as best answer by himself.

You pose a very good question. I hope that you find your answer.
