For the services of its staff and pupils in a military conflict, one (and only one) High School was granted the right to a flag with Battle Honours by the British Crown.
"Battle Honours" in the British Commonwealth are the equivalent of a Unit Citation in some other countries.

Max, La Martiniere is only CALLED a college. It is (and was then) a boarding school for high-school age pupils. According to Niall Ferguson (the historian) today's pupils - although all Indian - are still immensely proud of their school's unique history and military distinction.
