"When I was half way along the journey of our life I found myself in a shadowed forest for I had lost the path that does not stray."

This is the opening line from Inferno by Dante. beyond being a great opening line it also brings up an interesting question, how does someone lose their way?

I am not referring to a religious (as in the Inferno) or specific situation but just in general, how can someone lose their way, become wrapped up in things that they ordinarily would never consider, do things that they would normally never do?

So my question is, how can someone lose their way an once lost how can they find themselves and their way again?

Please explain your reasoning.

Thanks.

Would you rather...

Live an artificial, virtual reality life completely of your choosing? (this means never being able to leave the virtual life and having complete knowledge that you were in a virtual world the whole time)

OR

Live your current real life?

Nostradamus has predicted a number of things, some are interpreted to have come true, including thoughts of the rise of rulers like Hitler, etc.

He has predicted soon to come dates from the years 2008-2012 (the mayans have considered the year 2012 doomsday), including
- The Rise of an antichrist
- The Invasion of muslims into Europe
- The Confrontation of the antichrist and his axis, Europe Asia, and the Middle East
- The Nuclear destruction of the Vatican
- The Coming of the destructive comet triggering WWIII.
- The WWIII starting with a serious manhunt in search of Osama Bin Laden.

See more at Nostradamusonline.com-
Do you believe in his predictions?
The Book Of Revelation has strongly influenced this.
Is this the type of interpretations we should be infatuated (concerned) with?

The best answer goes to the person who can strongly give me their interpretation of this 'grain of salt' situation that is coming.

Calamity's grace

We're stuck in a world of hate and insanity. talks of only peace but acts of calamity. nuclear weapons of kick-butt mass destruction. No what are you crazy? we can't evade the system. you see it's not in our hands, free individuals sit and watch. while mr. clock tells us it's time for us to go back to work. tick tock. see the eyes of the child. at the break of dawn. oh where oh where art thou innocence gone? chaos spreads like an aids epidemic. soon everyone will be sick to their stomach. from the lies the hidden truth that remains. people fighting covered in blood stains. mayhem wipes out tons of populations. can't you see the eloquent beauty in devastation? how it kills everything in existance while no one notices and goes living life as some business. let's wait and see? nah~ time is being wasted. chaos is so close you can taste it. caught up trying to find the essence of today's society. the pellucid elegant grace of calamity

To emotionally develop a character in a novel really well and get people to care for them, then kill them? Would people still read the novel because one of their favorite characters died? Or would that surprise them and would they like that feeling of sadness and what will happen next? I have a great character in my mind and he won't be the main main character, but sometimes we'll see his point of view and I want people to really get attatched to this character because you have to to understand this character. Or should I keep him alive and if he goes over well (saying that it gets published, which is unlikely, but still possible) and write a second book about him and leave his future unknown? What would you prefer?

I am trying to create a framed Art piece that has a beach sand background with seashells, sealife, etc. glued onto the sand. However, I am having trouble knowing how I should glue the sand on and what the best material to use. Also, how will the heavy shells will stick to the sand. What kind of glue is best for sticking shells onto real sand and what is the best material to use for sticking purposes i.e. a canvas or an actual picture frame with construction paper? HELP!

I wrote this poem, about a guy I used to have a crush on, but he became a total jerk, so I wrote a poem:

I thought he was the one for me,
The one who’d always be there,
But I guess the feeling inside of me
Knows that he doesn’t care.

He makes me laugh every single day,
But he never seems to notice,
The little girl staring back his way,
With the biggest little grimace.

But then one day, he changed very fast,
Something I was not ready for,
I wish that this would all just pass,
But as I go on, there is even more.

He says bad words, just to be cool,
But I don’t seem to get it,
He is acting like a total fool,
I am sure he has lost it.

I was certain he was the one for me,
But now I can see he isn‘t,
I’ve got a future ahead of me,
And he is not in it.

He has turned into a psychopath,
This insane little jerk,
I had the best times with him in math,
But I guess that was just a perk.

That's not it, I didn't have room, I will post it in the details!
