Go ahead and process it. Consumer film does deteriorate, but slowly. Assuming it hasn't been stored in the heat, it should be all right. There may be a bit of color shift.

Stored properly - in the refrigerator or frozen in the freezer - it can last a long time. If your film has been exposed to high heat (attic, car glove box or trunk) it may be in advanced stages of losing emulsion or at worst color shift. Get it processed. You may like the results.

In 2005, I developed 2 rolls of film--one from the summer of 02 and one from the summer of 01, and both turned out just fine. Go ahead and develop them. You never know what you might find.
