What did Turkey do during the Gulf War that severely strained its relations with the US and how did that hurt Turkey economically?

its a buffer state, take a look at its location on a global map
...plus its a secular ( though maybe not for long ) muslim
state....as for the gulf war, it only allowed limited use of its territory/air space for our troops....

It is bordered by two enemies of the USA, Russia and Iran.
During the Gulf War it refused to allow US troops to invade Iraq from Turkey. It will have little effect economically
