I hired a lawn service company to mow my lawns, pick the weeds, etc. They came twice and on 1 visit, they cracked my window. I paid them for the first service, however I don't think I should have to pay them for the time they came and cracked my window. What does everyone think? Should I pay them? I don't plan on holding them liable for the cracked window.

A person who makes an average of $50,000 a year for 40 years is going to have $300,000 paid into social security. That is 2.5x what they can put into an IRA and the IRA would give them back 3x the return.

When is America going to wake up and realize Social Security is just a government income tax that is not even saved for us but used by our government like general operating dollars?

I have a gf for almost a year now. We know each other since `94 and are extremely happy together. One thought bothers me very much though and does not allow me to focus on other things. It is concerning my gf's other boyfriends before we were together. We lived in different countries for few years and lead separate ways of living. Now I can't get picture and thought out of my head that she'd been with some other guys in bed. The picture makes me feel just so bad.I feel anger, sadness, sickness in my stomach at the same time.I can't stop thinking about it. I know it's crazy, but the image of her in bed with some other guys make me feel so, that I want to cry. I haven't talked to her about it,as I guess I could upset her. I have no right to be angry at her nor blame her in any way,but I can't stop this horrible feeling coming back every few hours I have some spare time. I want it to go away and don't know why it doesn't.I need help, how to cope with that. I can't change the past, do I ?!

Things were less complicated in those times. People cherished what really mattered; their family and time in the world, the sunsets and the sunrises, and those mournful utterances of the locusts.

Although the lifestyle of today’s present society is convenient, I think that because of our many technological advancements we have lost something that was previously innately ingrained inside of us: a sort of appreciation for beauty.

Okay well his birthday is on the 28th of this month and he's turning 20. It's also our first Christmas physically together because I was in California last year. Well, I'm stuck at home so I have to get it online or get an idea of what to make or do. He's picky with food so that's why I barely cook for him. The food I make that he really likes is pasta, but I made that like how many times already. He doesn't want anything and even if he does, he won't say. He's really upset because of what had happened at work and I'm having a hard time cheering him up. Does anyone have any real ideas on gifts or ways of us celebrating together? Thank you! I hope no one gives any stupid answers just for points...

I met me fiance online, she messaged me one day, and although we live in different states, we long distanced it for & after just under a year, we moved in and got engaged.

Our culture, needs us to be engaged b4 we can live together.

We've been living together ~6mons, and since after the first month i've come to feel/realize that she's not the one. She's absolutely great in every respect, family, friends, etc, etc..but i don't feel it for her at all anymore. I feel we are intrinsically different, i want different things. I just graduated from professional school a year ago, this is my first time 'out' and i feel as if i just want to be on my own. Its my mistake, i proposed, but i am so unhappy in this arrangement i don't know what to do. I've told her how i feel, 3 months in, she told me to give her time, but i just want out..i feel i'm wasting each others time.. We live together in a condo i purchased for us to live in, i'm so unsettled, i don't feel right at all.

I have found many criticizing religious practices and condemning them. It is always their habit to condemn people who follow religion sincerely.

Actually it is their guilt which makes them to do it.

They will ask lots of questions. You try to answer them, they don’t want to listen.

They will ask you lots of proof for the same. If you try to give them, they don’t want to hear.

They will have their own views and assumptions.

It is these people who currupt the world.

How do you deal with these people. Don't tell me that you are one of them ?

I would have to say the worst gift I've ever gotten is a toss-up between Old Spice and old fruitcake. The worst I've ever given? I tried making these Christmas cookies one year--I had seen this recipe for them and they looked great--and I gave the cookies as gifts. They had turned out like hell, and I knew it, but it was what I had to give. I told my friends, "It's the thought that counts." They told me I should've just stuck to the thought and kept the cookies....

Anyway, what's the worst you've gotten and the worst you've given?
