I have a 21 month old son who will be 2 in March. His whole life, off and on, he has had some kind of runny nose/cough. This worries me quite a bit. Therefore, I have been asking the Doctors for the last 4 visits if we should do some allergy testing. They keep blowing me off and telling me to try this and that first, sometimes giving me medicine samples or even a prescription. Should I switch to another family practice or is there some kind of strict rule on testing children for allergies? Also, could this have something to do with the fact that he has been on Medicaid all his life?

‘Elegy for Brian (A Snail)’

Oh! Dear Brian! You passed away
On this now most grievous day;
You have left us, for your part,
A snail-shaped hole within our hearts
Oh! Brian! We shall miss you so,
We who watched your small life grow.

Oh! How swiftly you did slide!
With such elegance you did glide!
We watched you slither on and on
With such commitment, on and on;
Although you’re gone, we shan’t forget
Your talents, nor the day we met.

Friend, be not by grief undone
For, though our snail was stepped upon
He glides free now, free of fear,
In snail utopia, my dear

what's happening? is sex before marriage now considered as 'normal' for most people, as if nothing's wrong with that? and ... how about having a baby before marriage? is it considered very normal nowadays? i'm really scared ... ... because for me, a girl's virginity should be kept until her marriage! ... and i wonder how could this world turned out like that ... ? or i'm the one who're still old-styled, or fuddy duddy, or whatever!

A dentist noticed that his next patient, an elderly lady,
was looking very nervous so he decided to tell her a little joke as he put
on his gloves.

"Do you know how they make these gloves?" he asked.

"No, I don't" she replied.

"Well," he spoofed, "there's a building in China with a big tank of latex.
Workers of all hand sizes walk up to the tank, dip in their hands, let them
dry,
then peel off the gloves and throw them into boxes of the right size."

She didn't crack a smile. "Oh well, I tried," he thought.

But five minutes later, during a delicate portion of the dental procedure,
she burst out laughing.

"What's so funny?" he asked.

"I was just picturing how condoms are made!" she said.

...go back to the old way of marrying a Prince of one country with the princess of another..." I mean...hey...it worked for the medieval world a few times...You know...The Princess of Israel marries the Palestinian Prince...and they have adorable children both countries love...or India and Pakistan?

Or the U.S. and all other countries?

(Do you think that would work? Why or why not?)

How do you perform a G-test on the following data?

Category | Observed
A___________12
B___________6
C___________9

The formula I have for G-test is

G = 2 x [sum of]O ln (O/E)

where O is the observed and E is the expected (9)

And to get G for the data apparently you divide by a correction factor:

Correction factor: 1 + [(number of categories)² - 1]/6(number of observed frequencies)(degrees of freedom)]

But at the end I got G to be -0.206. Surely it can't be negative? The critical value for 5% significance level at 2 degrees of freedom is 5.99.

Last night I had a dream about kissing someone, but I don't know who it was. It's like I couldn't even see his face but we kissed and I could feel it, but I don't remember what it felt like. We were in a Kroger grocery store and he took me to the magazine aisle and just kissed me for about 10 sec. What does this mean? I've never dreamed about this before?

I recently heard of a teacher who daily requires her students to raise their arms above their heads. If there's any skin around the belly or waist showing, the shirt doesn't meet dress code.

I applaud such a thing. Do you think that public schools en masse could get away with doing a daily check like this without parents screaming "interference?" (In my opinion, the parents screaming that would be the ones who don't bother to parent to begin with.)

She tells her son, "The bigger they are, the sillier the lady is."

The boy, pleased with the answer, goes back to play in the ocean.

Then he runs to tell his mother that many of the men have larger things than
his dad does.

She replies, "The bigger THEY are, the dumber the man is."
