Not everything comes back down immediately. The international space station didn't come back down right away -- it's in a perpetual free fall. And the mars rovers won't come back down to Earth for a long time, if ever.

..............It is true as long as there is gravity..to hold it back..to.the.ground.....Once a thing overcomes this gravitational force...For example..as in the case of projecting...a satellite...where it is projected at a velocity so as to overcome the earth's gravitational force , it doesnot come back but revolves around the earth...if the velocity is further increased..it can escape from the earths pull.....
..........Thus all that goes up does not necessarily come down
