Amy, a city girl, marries a farmer.
One morning, before he goes out to the fields, the farmer says
to her, "The artificial insemination man is coming to
impregnate one of our cows today. I drove a big nail into the
two-by-four over the cow's stall. You show him where it is."
The farmer leaves, and a while later, the artificial insemination
man arrives. Amy takes him down the rows of cows until she
sees the nail.
She says, "This is the one, right here."
The man says, "How do you know?"
Amy says, "By the nail over its stall."
The man says, "What's the nail for?"
Amy says, "I guess it's to hang your pants on."

Ever since high school, I was always confused by that phrase. I can only assume that people who use it have never read the book (I think this is a fair assumption).

In Uncle Tom's Cabin (Harriet Beecher Stowe) it is true that Tom was on overseer of sorts, but he was hated by the plantation owner for refusing to whip other slaves, in fact he was whipped for refusing to whip others. Tom ultimately was beaten to death because he talked other slaves into escaping and refused to give any information as to their whereabouts.

Uncle Tom sacrificed himself for the cause (and he was about to become a free man).

So why do we call people Uncle Toms?

For not going to court to testify against her kids father. The police gave her the subpoena in hand, so she knew she had to appear or else. She is the one who filed the charge against him.

She said she wanted to keep him out so she can recieve child support. I kind of believe her, but I dont.

Why didnt she go to court?

Will Illustration die from the ever increasing acumulation of stock illustration? Mainly traditional, but also other forms of illustration, suffer, in my opinion, from clip art/internet stockpiling of an illustrations/photos of every possible event that are free, or libraries/achives of illustraion at advertizing companies. Ok. Last period started Oct 21. I started the nuvaring Oct 26. By my calculations I should have been expecting a period by Nov. 19. I didn't get one. Very minor spotting for about a day on 22. I need to mention that I did have unprotected sex before the seven days were up that you have to keep the ring in before its effective. Since last Sat, I've been really emotional/moody, bad lower back pain(likr pms but much worse) light cramping, breast tenderness and I've been throwing up which I NEVER do. I took a hpt at 5 days late and 7 days late which were both negative. Unconvinced I went to the docs yesterday and had another urine test done. Neg. She said she wouldn't worry about it. Many women have no period on bc. I thought it regulated it. She also said pregnancy is impossible due to neg test. Told me go ahead and put ring back in and if I do find out I'm preg it won't do any harm to the baby. I don't believe this. Threw up again last night after appt. What do I do? Could I be preg?

I am in West Boca and work in East Boca, so either would be fine for me, I need a part-time facility, where I can pay only for the days we use, as we will be leaving the baby with the inlaws two out of the 5 days a week. There is a place nearby, the Bright Horizons location, but it is only pre-school, not infant.

I am trying to find a great infant learning center in Boca that will allow me to pay on an as-needed basis, or partially, I would only need them from Tue-Thursday, does anyone know of any good options? I have looked online, but I can't find any that fit into all of the categories...please let me know.
