Thoughts Please

COLD BY CHOICE

I remember
there were no inhibitions
everything
was done by my volition.
Time goes by
innocence is lost beneath the wave
of our youth,
falling into memory, a grave.
Please don't tell,
I've forgotten what it's like to cry.
Being numb
is the way I keep myself alive.
I'm alone,
I'm an actress and my stage is dark.
Save me
from reflection of the mirror stark.
I know
that you think I'm hiding from what's real.
I don't care,
because it hurts me too damn much to feel.
It's my fault,
I am only by myself betrayed.
That's all right,
my debt to myself is wholly paid.

Mine is Britney Spears. Why haven't we totally forgotten who she is by now? She's a terrible person.

All your evidence for evolutions is either a lie or is not interpreted right. Let me show you an example where atheists lied to people.
At this website http://corior.blogspot.com/2006/02/part-16-more-evidence-for-ice-ages.html
About the tenth paragraph down it says
"Of all the cores removed from the Greenland Ice Sheet, the one containing the most ancient ice is the Camp Century core.... The deepest, and hence oldest, layer.... once lay 4,600 feet below the surface of the ice sheet and was probably laid down some 125,000 years ago, before the advent of the Ice Age.... analysis of the O-18 content of the bottom 1,000 feet of the core yielded details of the climatic history of Greenland"

This website shows they were not telling the truth.

Hi I have seen the price that Wiis are selling for on ebay (£250+) and was wondering if I should sell it because the price I would get from selling it with one game (redsteel) and of course wii sports would be more than enough to get a 360 with HDMI port (Elite or any Gen 2 360).

If I should sell my wii what sort of price should I ask for?

I think that it is sad that a person who is getting a puppy can not ask a question, without people jumping down their throat. DOGS ARE NOT HUMANS, it is great to have your puppy inside to socialize with the family, but do any of you work?? Do you pay for daycare for your pup? So are you telling me that you have your eyes on a dog at all times like a human child? Dogs are apart of the family, but don't take it so far to say sleep outside naked in the cold, would you send your 3 year old child outside to play in 53 degree weather w/out a jacket...no would you put a jacket on a dog?? Are you being cruel for not putting one on him? Are you telling me that if it is 32 degrees outside it is wrong for me to put him in the garage, because I don't want my house to go to shreds while I am at work? FACT is that dogs are apart of the family to some degree, you wouldn't leave a kid in the car, leave a kid at home while you are at work etc. Just give facts about dogs, don't get crazy!!!

Some gerontologists (biologists who study aging) argue that the ultimate lifespan of a human is
limited by telomere copy number. Adult human cells have the gene for telomerase, but it is inactive in
all but the cells which give rise to sperm. Loss of just one telomere in a cell—the cell dies (generally).
Some feel that if the gene for telomerase could be “turned on” so that it expresses the active enzyme,
then we could become “immortal” (will not die from natural age-related afflictions). Dr. Struldbrug has
invented such a drug that can be taken once and one has active telomerase for the rest of one's life.
People are buying it in droves.

A) What are telomeres and what role to they play in cell division? Why are they necessary?
B) What will happen to the takers of Dr. Struldbrug's Immortal Elixir? From what afflictions will they
suffer (and die?) from more often than mere mortals?
C) What type of drug would you invent to combat those afflictions? How would it work?

A helium-filled balloon at atmospheric pressure is tied to a 3.0 m long, 0.070 kg string. The balloon is spherical with a radius of 0.40 m. When released, it lifts a length (h) of the string and then remains in equilibrium as in Figure P9.78. Determine the value of h. When deflated, the balloon has a mass of 0.25 kg. (Hint: Only that part of the string above the floor contributes to the load being held up by the balloon.)

I grew up in a house where Christmas was a big deal... now I sit at 46 with a son in the mental hospital, a wife who has betrayed me and abused drugs, alcohol and herself for years and is just a fat and depressed loser now. She wants to have the whole Xmas thing this year. I don't. I am just now getting over thanksgiving when I had nothing to be thankful for whatsoever... now i am supposed to pretend i give a damn about Christmas. Lets worry about the rest of the year, why don't we? Then we'll talk about Christmas. Oh, religious people, I have nothing against you. Its not the holiday I am against... just the secular celebration.

You are studying a new primate species which you have just discovered in remote jungles of Africa.
You have brought back to the lab a lot cells that can be grown and used to isolate cellular components.
The standard methodology is to isolate random fragments of DNA, clone them, and do lots and lots of
sequencing to characterize the genome. You have already cloned restriction fragments in the size range
300-2000 bps but haven't yet sequenced them. Unfortunately, the Flat Earth Luddites (an
ultraultraconservative group) has decided biological knowledge is dangerous and managed to destroy
all the manufacturing plants for ddNTPs halting all large-scale sequencing projects.

Science must go on. Describe 5 experiments you will do do characterize the genome of this
primate. You can choose any genome-specific reasonable metrics. Include at least one that allows you
to make comparisons of it to the human, chimpanzee, and/or rhesus macaque (the genomes of these
primates are fully sequenced). Assume you can get any research materials from those organisms. You
can perform about a total of 10 kb of sequencing with dNTPs you have left over.
