I'm a new pastor, and I'm looking forward to it.
I'm looking forward to seeing people come back to church for the first time in months.
I'm looking forward to inviting them to participate in the church family more fully.
I had a paramedic come to church Sunday in her uniform, and after the service, she apologized for how she was dressed. I told her I'd prefer she be in church dressed that way, than not be in church at all.
If someone only comes to church for the first time in the next four weeks, then that's more more times they came to church than in the previous month . . . and that's fine with me.
Godspeed.

Exactly what Primoa said- AND I want to add that they probably do this thinking of it as some good work, like they are "ok" if they go to church during Christmas and Easter but the rest of the year they live in the world, and apart from Christ. God knows the heart of every person and He knows who truly belong to Him. I just hope and pray that many will come to actually know the Lord, and desire to worship Him year round, and go to church for the RIGHT reasons.

I'm always happy to see more people at church. A few times a year is better than nothing.

I'm usually unimpressed; there are many people who will go to church if they don't have anything "better" to do...like camping, shopping, travelling, or watching TV. But hey, you never know what might touch someone's heart and wake them up to the reality of the Gospel. Better once a year than never.

Basically, they are trying to have their cake and eat it too. They probably would prefer not to go to church at all, but compromise by going once in a while just in case.

It's between them and God.
Same with being a believer or not.
Personally, I feel they may be missing out on the best that a life with our living God has to offer.

I don't want to say I feel sorry for them but they should know better because one day every believer will give an account of how we served the Lord ( Tithing ,witnessing ,supported missions ,etc)

I usually leave my seat free for them that day! Actually I find sermons "about" Holidays very unsettling. I think we should be the same every day in our beliefs and where we stand.

I feel that they are just there to make an appearance......and nothing else.
