I have two questions:
1) Why did the Muslims want the Holy Land?
2) Why did the Christians want the Holy Land?
The Crusades started over that, but why did each religion want it?

Please, no answers that are not appropriate, no "Blah, they're both dumb" and stuff like that, it's a serious question and I want a serious answer, NO OPINIONS.

Two cars, both of mass m, collide and stick together. Prior to the collision, one car had been traveling north at speed 2v, while the second was traveling at speed v at an angle phi south of east (as indicated in the figure). After the collision, the two-car system travels at speed v_final at an angle theta east of north.

What is the angle theta with respect to north made by the velocity vector of the two cars after the collision?

Express your answer in terms of phi. Your answer should contain an inverse trigonometric function.

I was trying to solve it by breaking it down the components in x & y direction.

so i did in x-direction: (2m)v_i cos (0) - (2m) 2v_i sin (theta) = (2m)v_i tan (theta)

Now i used the formula m1v1+m2v2= (m1+m2)v3

Since this is inelastic i thought the 2nd direction would be subtracted since energy isn't conserved.

Please help i tried to do the algebra and im confused. Am i even supposed to be using this equation?

I have a very difficult conundrum. My wife no longer has feelings for me, and is not interested in my needs, either physically or emotionally. We have no children, so in most circumstances, I would think that this is a slam dunk divorce case. However, several years ago, she was diagnosed with brain cancer. She was expected to die, but is doing very well, and has, in all likelihood, beaten it. She did have to have brain surgery, and the specific area of her brain that was impacted was her frontal lobe, which is associated with emotions. So at this point, she is essentially emotionally stunted, which is quite possibly the main reason for her lack of interest in me. She does depend on me financially, as her disease has also cost her her ability to work. I doubt she could have any kind of adult relationship with anyone else because I don't think she's capable. So her life without me would be miserable. But being with her under these circumstances is making me miserable. Thoughts?

Is there a substance that will take a mold of something written in concrete? It will be backwards, so I would need to apply ink and press onto paper and frame. Any ideas? They are feet and writing. It needs to also be able to set fast.

I recieved my ASVAB results today. I am a junior in high school, and I got a 93 on it. I scored a 28 on my ACT, which is above average I think. My GPA is around 3.0-3.2 at any given time. The marine guy said I could do any job I wanted in any branch, considering my ASVAB score. I'm interested in Marine Recon/flying planes for any branch. Also, am i qualified for a full ride through ROTC? I want to join the military, and any information would help me greatly. Thank you!
