(but still believe in the God of Abraham)

Trinity as 'God in three persons' in any form (three seperate gods in One, one god with 3 personalities or identities).

Looking for info on any religion/belief system that says God is One and means it (i.e. no 'you just have to believe it' drivel)

Religions of The God of Abraham
Judaism
Islam
Zoroastrianism

Within Christianity, one must look at the different definitons of the Trinity...
The Catholic Church (and many others) believe that THe Trinity is a mystery, where the Father Son, and Holy Spirit are three, but they are also just one God, much like a clover has three leaves, but is just one clover.

But Swedenborgions (The Church of the New Jerusalem) believe that the trinity composes as three individuals who existed at three different times, and never the same time...I think...

Greetings all, there are many that do not believe in the term trinity for a variety of reasons. To get right to it, the scriptures do not teach that God have three personalities or that any being spiritual of physical is equal to God. The scriptures do teach us that God stand alone (Deut. 32:39, Isaiah 44:6-8, Isaiah 45:21-22, James 2:19). The list of scriptures go on. The Lord Jesus testified that he and the Father are one. The flesh was not God but the Spirit that aboded in the flesh of Lord Jesus was God. Think about it, scriptures testify that the Lord Jesus gave up the ghost. He died and was resurrected. Now we all know that God can not die or be killed. The spirit in the Lord was God not the flesh. Lord Jesus testified that a comforter would come which was the Holy Ghost. 2ND Corinthians 1:3 Paul referenced God as being the God of all comfort which means if any comfort is given, it has to be given by God by way of his Spirit. Isn't that wonderful? Hebrews 1:3 note that the Lord Jesus is the expressed image of his person, God tells us to be Holy because he want us like him. If we teach any other doctrine other than what the Lord Jesus commanded, Woe unto us...

Only the ones that recognize Jesus as the Son of God believe in the trinity. Trinity means three parts, so Judaism and Islam haven't defined God with three aspects.

All catholic (Roman, Russian and Eastern), protestant and evangelical churches believe in the trinity.
Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, Seventh Day Adventists and other such cults do not. These are for that reason and others not accepted as Christians by the World Council of Churches and similar bodies.
Of course Jews and Muslims don't either but they are different religions entirely.

Purchase a copy of the New York Times Desk Reference. It will be one of the best purchases you have ever made, for nearly any question you will ever ask.
Christianity is a minority religion on the world stage, and therefore the majority of religions do not believe in the Trinity.

Hi Prayer L.,
I can speak only for myself and my fellow believers.
I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
This is our belief:
Jehovah God is God the Father, Almighty!
Jesus is Gods first born son in ALL creation, but not equal
The Holy spirit is NOT a person, BUT Gods active force to create and change and move as He God the Father needs to!

The trinity belief said that Jesus would know every act of His Father because they are one in the same.
The Bible shows different.
The trinity shows the HOLY SPIRIT as a thinking person separate from God, that is not true, It is Gods Creative force in action!

Unitarian Universalists would not "believe" in the Trinity. They accept Jesus Christ, for example, as an historic figure. They have different ideas of what god might be, and it is doubtful you would ever hear about a holy spirit or holy ghost in a Unitarian Universalist church.
