I recieved my ASVAB results today. I am a junior in high school, and I got a 93 on it. I scored a 28 on my ACT, which is above average I think. My GPA is around 3.0-3.2 at any given time. The marine guy said I could do any job I wanted in any branch, considering my ASVAB score. I'm interested in Marine Recon/flying planes for any branch. Also, am i qualified for a full ride through ROTC? I want to join the military, and any information would help me greatly. Thank you!

That ASVAB will get you any job in the enlisted military, certain jobs cannot be had simply by enlisting, such as Navy Seal. The recruiter will tell you what you want to hear, so you must ask specific questions. Pilots are officers and therefore as a rule must have a college degree. Most full ride ROTC scholarships are given to high school ROTC officers. I suggest that you take the SAT, get accepted into a university that has an ROTC program (Navy or Army if you want Marines) and talk to the Officer recruiters. Most major universities have Officer recruiting stations near the campus.

the ASVAB and ROTC are not connected in any way. you must apply for an ROTC scholarship. you may or may not get a full one, or the 2 year version. you would be competing against kids with much higher GPAs than you who also are active in at least one sport as well as leadership roles in the community.

If you want to fly, you must have the 4 year degree in hand. the only exception is the Army's Warrant Officer Flight school program..you would fly Helos only.

You do not have to have an engineering degree to fly for the Air Force....I think your GPA is a tad low but you are a junior and have time to bring it up...most of our four year winners have a 3.5 or higher. Check out http://www.afrotc.com and see what you think. You have time to get a package together your senior year if you are interested in the Air Force. We do not offer any two year scholarships to high school students.

No, your scores do not qualify you for a ROTC scholarship.

ROTC scholarships are competitive.

Your GPA is a tad low, needs to be in the 3.3 to 3.4 range.

To fly, you have to be an Officer, which means you will need a engineering degree from a university.

it is a profession comparison. The ASVAB is most of the time the army's variant of the ACT. There's no agreement or something. It measures quite no longer such a lot teachers, however extra so what jobs you would be effective at.
