no, this is not a question on dating, but how did the sadie hawkins dance get its name? I was just curious, because I know very well what it is from my history, but I have no idea what it means.

I've heard eating garlic can make one give off an odor, seeps thru the pores, even days after having eaten it but is this by eating a certain amount, like a huge amount or is it just by eating any amount, even if it's say 1 minced garlic clove cooked and then scattered throughout the whole dish? Would that little amount cause the bad odor seeping thru the pores problem, or would I have to eat more than that on a daily basis to have the odor issue? Also are there other foods or spices besides garlic and onions that should be avoided so that I won't have a problem like that?

My Mum knitts lots and I want to get her funky knitting needles for Christmas as she saw them in a magazine and really fancied them. She has unfortunately recycled the magazine so I can't even look at that. Would really apprecaite any websites or any info about this! Thanks.

Let me count the ways...
I turned off that dreadful alarm clock.
I made Crock Pot Ribs
I cleaned the kitchen
I swept and mopped the floors
I cleaned the bathrooms
I picked up the clutter from about the house
I vaccumed
I woke you with gentle kisses a cup of coffee and a smoke
All to say thank you for all that you do for us and simply that I love you.

There is this girl who has been taking personal photos of other people’s bebo and myspace pages and reposting them on her public xanga site without the owner’s permission. She refuses to take them down claiming there is nothing wrong with what she is doing.
I've always thought you needed permission and I'd be pretty pissed of if I spotted someone using my personal photos...but is she actually allowed do this?

According to atheists, there is no God, so every thing in this universe is subjected to "obligatory" physical laws .. and since our brains are parts of this world, they are subjected to these laws as well, for example the chemical reaction going on in our brains.

So to make it short:
- Is there anything in this word that is not subjected it's physical laws?
- How can we say we have free will if we are just only obeying the laws?

I'm building a backyard fireplace(?) firepit and I have some leftover concrete from a sidewalk project and anyhow I figure I make the walls of the fireplace with concrete bricks. Then I remember someone once told me that concrete explodes at high temp. Is that true? And does that rule also apply to rocks?

There is a bus that does it for $130 one way which is too much for me. Then I thought, maybe I can catch Greyhound or the Amtrak to Aspen but it doesn't go there it only goes to Glenwood Springs. Is there a bus from Glenwood Springs to Aspen? Does the Roaring Fork bus go there?

I'm in a very new and very intense relationship. Usually I'm a take it slow kinda person, but this guy totally swept me off my feet. I met him 4 weeks ago through a mutual friend, he told me he loved me within hours of meeting me. Told me he wanted to marry me/live with me/kids with me. I've met his kids from his previous marriage. He's 16 years older than me, which is not unusual as I prefer older guys. Things is, he is more intense than I am and more sure about 'us'. When I spoke about having doubts early on and if I ever say anything remotely hurtful (even without intending to) he tends to be very sensitive and take it to heart and then get cross/upset/not talk to me for a couple of days. On the last occasion where he was ignoring me, I couldn't stand it, and travelled down to see him (2 hour train journey) without telling him and basically I was snubbed by him, he treated me as though he did't want me at all even after I'd made the effort to come down to see him (continued below..)

I just bought my friend 2 martini glasses, they are hand painted with her wedding date and the couple's name. They were $25 each. I guess you can drink out of them, but they are more for display. They are really nice, but do you think they are too expensive.

I'm getting her another gift as well, I just saw these in the store and they were so nice. I couldn't past them up.

I am going to New York in February with my college, and was wondering if there were any specific places that would benefit my trip, baring in mind I can't go too far from the hotel. I am staying on 30th Street, on the corner of 8th Avenue. We are already visiting the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty. Any suggestions would be appreciated! :)

Last year when visiting Chicago I went back to a house I lived in 50 years ago. It was a 2 story, 4 unit building. It was in a very clean quiet neighborhood. It seemed much smaller than I remembered it and was in very good condition. Would you have knocked on the door and asked to see inside?

you ask a question that is deep and things get so out of hand you forget to pick best answer and it goes to the community? I've had that happen a few times recently and they're questions I really wanted answers too but just got busy. I personally feel bad, since I should have chosen best answer myself. So, how do you all feel about that?
