Get Writers Market and read it. Find out who is taking what. There are no shortcuts to being truly published.

I have started the screenwriting process and I can tell you everything MUST be visual. You can't go into depth on anything and I suspect your plot will not transfer to the screen.

There are two routes; small publishing houses and literary agents. To land an agent is tough, yet one never knows. The best literary agents are in Manhattan, NYC. Go to your library and ask the reference desk for the LMP, the literary market place. It's a big yellow book. In there you'll find listings of small publishing houses and literary agents. Write a succinct cover letter, and follow their directions: some want the first page, some want the first chapter. If you have the stomach to face rejection also send a self addressed stamped envelope for a reply. Good luck.

you are going about this completely wrong my friend

contact only small publishers, ignore the larger ones, and agets are useless to you now as well, they want people that are guaranteed to make them money.

And yes, if you don't sell books once it's published, you won't make money, aside from your initial advance. That means your publisher will also drop you.

actors and directors and producers have no interest in your manuscript too, stick to the literary world

Ha ha ha. Get ready for it to rain rejections. It is about as hard to get published as it is to get into the movies.
