Suppose that the demand curve for a bridge is,
q = a - bp
where
q=trips per day
p=toll
a,b=positive numbers

Once the bridge is built, the cost to cross it is zero. But to build it costs C. What toll will pay it off? What toll will maximize the net benefits of the bridge?

My math teacher in high school a couple years ago always told me that one day all the numbers would dissapear....i was clearly not ready for this :(

thanks for your help.

Matthew 16: 28 Assuredly, I say to you, there are some standing here who shall not taste death till they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom.

Mark 9:1 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.

Luke 9:27 But I tell you of a truth, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God.

Does this mean Jesus lied? He didn't come back before they died and He still hasn't...

When I was little, I was TRUE believer. Then Sunday school came in and some of the stories didnt make sense to me. School didnt make my faith any stronger. Around 9th grade, I started learning about the history of all religions especially Christianity. It was like the more I learned, weaker my faith became; Praying didnt help either. Every now and then when my life gets incredibly up bearable, I mock God to see how bad He can really make it. By the end of high school, I was thought God to be a prick. Now im sitting getting ready to say out that I denounce God. Should I have ignored religion's history? Is ignorance bliss?

ive been watching nascar since the 70's and back then one car teams and guys that just liked to race came to show what they had.
slowly sponsers came aboard but now it's more commercial than racing. i know it takes money but nascar is always saying there doing something to "cut costs" for the smaller teams.
does anyone else find this stupid when you see the race on tv for 5 min. then 5 min. of commercials????i just want to watch the race.

Our 5 year old Compaq has been running very slow lately. I tried to run Ad-aware to see if we had any spyware running, but it keeps encountering errors and can never complete the scan and delete issues. There are tons of sites out there with software for spyware and also to clean up your registry. Which is recommended and safe to use?

A rotating star collapses under the influence of gravitational forces to form a pulsar. The radius of the star after collapse is 3.00 10-4 times the radius before collapse. There is no change in mass. In both cases the mass of the star is uniformly distributed in a spherical shape.

(a) What is the ratio of the angular momentum of the star after collapse to before collapse?

The answer to part (a) is 1

(b) What is the ratio of the angular velocity of the star after collapse to before collapse?

(c) What is the ratio of the rotational kinetic energy of the star after collapse to before collapse?

(d) If the period of the star's rotation before collapse is 2.00 107 s, what is its period after collapse?

The answer to (d) is 1.8 seconds
