Johnny Depp is an amazing actor. He is probably the only actor out there that I can watch a movie with him in it and never think of him being "Johnny Depp" he gets into character better than any other actor currently out there.

He's not my favorite, but I think Johnny Depp is the best actor alive today. He seems to "disappear" in whatever movie he plays. I don't see Johnny Depp, I see Captain Jack Sparrow, or Willie Wonka, or Mort Rainey, or Ichabod Crane.
When I see Tom Hanks, on the other hand, I see Tom Hanks on a deserted island, or Tom Hanks in charge of death row.
