99% of the population believed the world was Flat.
1 man didn't, he thought it was a round sphere...

Guess who was right?

Pointing out the total lack of evidence as a justification for non-belief is not trying to "prove that God doesn't exist". It's simply saying "I don't believe in your God and here's a good reason why."
And 90% of people once thought the world was flat. Does that mean it was once true?

I do not believe that any "god" exists.

I have never tried to prove this position for two very good reasons:

1. I have also never tried to prove that 2 plus 1 = 19

reasons:

1a. I really have no interest in debating old wives tales with people who have no excuse whatever not to know better.

2a. One cannot prove a non-occuring event.

As in, the universe did not explode last Tuesday and I cannot prove it.
Or, god exists! and I cannot prove it.

Get the drift?

That's because belief in a god(dess) isn't rational. It's all about faith. Believers only need one reason for believing in a particular deity (faith), while it takes a little longer to explain all the very good reasons not to. It's not about something being hard to prove, what is hard is rationalizing with people against their faith.

The quality of our internal wiring proves nothing (we are masters of the art of self delusion)...

First you'd have to actually find one of those people trying to prove a negative.

Honestly so many people post this nonsensical notion any yet even they can't possibly believe what they're saying. I've never seen even one person post a link to someone trying to so why lie?

If as you say 90% believe as you do and you're confident in that belief, again why lie?

Are you saying that just because that many people say it's true, it must be true? That is one of the biggest fallacies on earth. Yes, that many people CAN be wrong.

For the record, non-believers don't try to prove anything. We know the default position is NO GOD... it's up to the believers to prove it and so far, there is no proof or evidence forthcoming. We're still waiting.

Because proving God exists is WAY WAY too easy for many, Just Read The Bible! For me that's a copout. Proof is not arrived at by pointing at a book and quoting scripture, proof comes with reason and fact.

We don't. But when someone posts a question asking about beliefs, or constantly tells us that we are wrong (like you are fdoing) don't you expect us to put in our two cents?

And it's not our burden to prove, it's your's. Just because more people believe there is a higher power, that doesn't make them right. Lots of people believed Hitler was right, did that make their ideas correct? No!

Surveys prove that 98% of all statistics are made up on the spot by whomever wants to prove a point

I think it was chemistry class where my teacher said you can't prove the negative. You won't catch me trying to prove a god doesn't exist. It is harder for you to prove one does. Show it to me and I'll think about it. Oh wait, it's not tangible? It's in your imagination? OK. Keep pretending. I'll keep living my normal life.

I think it's because it's easy to believe in god so believers don't want to leave their little protected world where they believe someone is looking over them and they don't have to worry about anything because 'God will make things alright.' There are less people that don't believe in God for this reason and its only logical that they want to better understand the believers.
