Yes get rid of them now. Get your ears healthy and then use sensitive solutions earrings or real gold. I can't wear fake jewelry either. Claire's has sensitive solutions earrings for a good price, or you can invest in a good pair of earrings that will last you.

i know this for sure! you are allergic to nickle! its a really cheap metal found mostly in jewelry. if you have never worn fake earrings for sure then this is most deffinatly it b/c the skin inside that hole is super sensitive due to it being made of scar tissue. the best way to fix it is to take out the earrings and put in(so the holes don't close up) real gold or silver earrings so you wont have a reaction and clean the holes at least twice a day with like peroxide or the cleaning stuff they give you when you get your ears pierced and then put neosporin on it so the germs stay out. but make sure you wear earrings while they are healing up or the holes will close up. the good news is there are now tons of cute jewelry out there that are nickle free and you can find it anywhere but make sure it says nickle free or sensitive solutions (at Claire's they have sensitive solutions) i hope this helped if ya have any more questions feel free to ask and if you still aren't sure go see your doctor!

You should definitely take them off! My ears are allergic to fake earrings too. Well, they're not necessarily allergic to the earrings. It's what the earrings are made off that irritates my ears and causes the bleeding. I use only earrings with 14K gold posts or ones that are made specifically for sensitive ears.

1] remove the earrings
2] clean the earholes with a shower [ soap and water ] and
3] then cover holes with antibiotic ointment
4] get a pair of good hoops, dip the wire end in ointment, and put in ears. Leave in until ears return to normal.
5] buy only earrings for sensitive ears.
PS: I am a little sensitive to the nickel, too. I have some cheap but cute ones I only wear for one workday.

yeah its possible
my friend is allergic to fake earrings
just let them heal, clean them everynight with a little bit of hydrogen peroxide until they get better, it should only take a few days
but now you can only wear sterling silver earrings cause you have really sensitive ears
hope this helped!

I can understand your frustration because all us girls in my family (4) react to the stuff that says "Hypo-allergenic" and Nickel free. That just means the nickel wasn't our particular issue - and probably same with you. My doctor told me "Hypo-allergenic" does not mean 'NOT' allergenic to everyone. It's like the difference between a jacket being "rain resistant" and one being "rain 'PROOF." For us, 14K or 24K Gold posts are best BUT - anything specifically marked "Surgical Steel" posts work for us also. Surgical Steel - is the stuff surgical tools are made out of specifically to prevent any reaction from the patient being operated on so that should be a good bet for you for earring posts. We have a store called "Ardene's" here that sells a lot of cheap earring with surgical stell posts! The teenage girls are really happy about that.

Other than that - follow the nurse's notes on how to clean your infected area.

Good luck to you!

yes of course take them out. I have the same problem with fake jewelry in general my doctor told me to use Drug treatment is typically in the form of Antihistamines such as diphenhydramine, hydroxyzine, cetirizine and other H1 receptor antagonists. These are taken on a regular basis to protective effect, lessening or halting attacks. basically use 1% hydrocotison creme and no more fake earrings

yes i have the same problem i can't wear those type of earings something to do with the backing and what there made of.. when you get hurt like that put polysporine on it. and take them out yes of course throw them away actually.

its the post that are affecting you. You can't wear what ever its made out of. You'll be okay with gold of course. but watch out for the fakes alot will hurt your ears.
