Or the so-called “leading of the holy Spirit?” Hasn’t this led to crazy interpretations? For example the justification of incest, slavery and the holocaust? The 30 years war between Catholics and Protestants, prejudices, more than 30,000 Christian denominations and the disunity of Christendom? Not to mention cults led by people like Jim Jones and David Koresh who tell their followers to commit suicide? Is this Christ’s way of uniting Christians following his prayer for all of us to be one? I certainly don’t think so.

Jesus prayed that His followers would be ONE.
"that they may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us..." (John 17:21)

St. Paul emphasizes that all followers of Jesus Christ should be ONE.
"Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgement." (1 Cor 1:10)

Why can’t Fundamentalists, Evangelicals and Pentecostals realize that when we bash each other we are effectively bashing Christianity? We have chosen different paths towards the kingdom of God. Why can’t we just walk the path we have chosen and let the other believers follow theirs for the sake of Christianity?

How do you know when someone is truely sorry? If someone doesn't take responsibility for what they have done and constantly deflects the blame and maybe even blames the innocent party for the reason they acted badly to begin with and makes excuses and justifications for what they have done......can they even be a little sorry or is it all BS to get the issue over with...what do you do when you realize someone who has hurt you deeply doesn't even feel bad for it and all the attempts at "apologizing" are clearly half hearted. And how do you react when they get mad that you don't accept their apology and forget about it?

have been ttc since january and absolutey no luck. for few months i managed to keep strong and think to myself 'it will happen'

but now its nearly end of the year and another period is here.
i feel quite depressed and stressed and seems like everyone around me is falling pregnant... keep crying many days, feel low and depressed....

I was thinking about this over the weekend. I think that the average (if such a thing exists!) atheist has a positivist outlook on life. He/she believes that deep down, most people are inherently good, and that we all have the tools within ourselves to be moral people and contribute to society and form meaningful relationships. When such a person makes a bad choice, they see it as an aberration, and not the sign of a character flaw, and decide on their own power to do better next time.

The Christian, on the other hand, has at his/her heart a fundamental sense of "brokenness"--the sense that, without the help of a more powerful and "Good" being, they would tend to make choices that were harmful to themselves or others, because deep down, people are selfish at heart. When such a person makes a bad choice, they see it as a symptom of their inability to do good on their own power, and proof that they need to seek a "Higher Power" to become who they want to/are meant to be.

I really feel the need to call him but fear that he won't answer my call. Don't get it, he said he liked my looks and I am not a nasty person. I contacted him last with no response. Moving to Florida next year with my interracial family and want a multicultural environment that is safe. I researched and saw that Broward County is a pretty safe county, and the aforementioned cities are pretty safe, even with the mixture of races and cultures. This is awesome. My son who is almost 3 used to be a very agreeable child. Now he objects to every routine. I picked a costume character that is is one of his favorites and introduced him to the costume last night. He wants nothing to do with it and had a screaming tantrum when we put it on. We have several ideas for how to get him to "warm up" to the costume but I thought it would be interesting to hear what others have to say.
