Communist China has never seriously threatened the United States. They have been willing to work with us on numerous foreign issues throughout the years while upholding our differences.

On the other side, everyone is aware of when the embargo against Cuba started and the deathly threat of a nuclear attack. I do say it's time we ended our hostility with Cuba and discontinued our ban of Cuban goods. However, so far no politician has been brave enough to touch what would likely be a third rail in politics.

Even if your premise was correct, how would that make the US a Communist nation? You've got a bit of a disconnect going here. You might also keep in mind that Cuba's proximity to the US posed more of a threat when the eMbargo was first imposed. And are you implying that Cuba is a free country? There might be a few imprisoned journalists that would have a different opinion on that.

You need to work on your spelling my friend. Also, democracy is a form of government while communism is an economic system therefore you can be both in theory. I have never heard of a democratic country that was communist but many are socialist because communism which is also known as authoritarian socialism requires that authoritarian component which kind of goes against the whole democratic thing.
We shouldnt befriend China or Cuba nor should be alienate them. Now is the time to work on Cuba while Castro is on his death bed so the next leader may become an ally

China a military threat? Says who? In what way? Way back in the 50s maybe, but even then not really. (for example china only had 10 badger nuclear capable bombers while the US had more than 1500 nuclear capable air planes)What is the basis of your conclusion?

As for Cuba, it is simply a matter of treachery. Cuba was an economic partner who stabbed the US in the back. Was also used by Russians (or Soviets) to site mid range nuclear missiles specifically targeting the US. In simple terms, which would you distrust more? Your neighbour who tried to kill you or some well armed tough guy but living thousands of miles away?

What makes the US democratic is not its foreign policies but its domestic system of government.

Shows encouragement to me. Allow China to become a democratic nation through capitalism. Embargos with Cuba for human rights violations. Just for the record, race has nothing to do with it. Many of the former residents of Cuba who "escaped" into this country from Cuba cannot wait for a new democracy in Cuba.

I see that you really have no idea about what the word United States of America really mean. We are a country that is lead by its people and not by business or government. We the people decide what direction to take this country. You support Clinton and have no idea where she wants to take this country. She will take this country right where you claim it is now, socialism. She has clearly indicated so on many occasions and her plans and policies clearly demonstrate that. This president has taken the country away from government and given it back to the people and if we continue in conservative footsteps, we will eventually once again become the greatest country this world has ever know. You liberals need to open your eyes and keep your twisted lies all to yourself. No one wants to support failures that you liberals promote as good.

Welcome to the democratic republic whose economy is based upon capitalism. As a capitalist nation, it looks out for it's interests. As a democratic republic, it also has strong ideas of what is right and wrong. Sometimes it can influence others (nations) by imposing commercial sanctions against those who they believe to be in violation of what it considers to be the rights of all humans. And sometimes, it holds it's influence by offering business in exchange for change. White collar? Captialism promotes growth and rewards those who do well. Can you think of a truly better system? And please, don't say communism or socialism. Both are failures and work to undermine capitalism.
