the big problem here is the locking stering wheel if you cannot turn the key you cant turn the wheel so you cant drive the car

call a locksmith they can get the broken part out and make you a new key

mite cost you $50

to hot wire the car requires you to get to the wireing from the ignition switch and hook them all together exept the starter wire wich you touch just long enoulf to start the car

many newer cars have a passive security system that will disable the car from starting if you try this so it wont work anyway sorry

ps the guy is kidding you about the smoke

Depending on the age of the car, the dealer can make a new key from the VIN. Just be prepared to prove ownership.

Most new cars cannot be hot wired anymore without cracking open the steering column.

Cheaper to get a lock smith over to pick the lock and make a key.

If the piece is still in the ignition you can probably still start the car but you can call a locksmith and get a new key or call the dealer with the VIN # and they can make you a key.I hope this helps but dont cut any wires that will cause more problems

When they put the wiring together, they trapped smoke in it. Without knowing the year make, or model, and it really not being a something I'm gonna tell you how to do anyway, when you start touching those wires together-DON'T LET THE SMOKE OUT!
Good luck-you're gonna need it!
Seriously, take it to a professional.

It would be easier to just replace the ignition switch, then trying to hot wire your car and maybe causing more problems.
