I've studied theology and find the God of the main three Abrahamic faiths to be absolutely monsterous. I am having a hard time going to church and hanging out with people who can say nothing about how good their God is while they completely ignore everything he has done. In the OT slavery is condoned, women are looked down upon as inferior, God tells his people to kill multiple groups for not believing in him, one is told to kill their own kin if they worship another God. I just can't get my sense of morality to swallow this, no matter how hard I try.

I also can't get past the point of an eternal Hell. It makes no sense to me, and is perhaps more twisted than anything I wrote above. People choose their religion based on where they are born, of course they've heard of Christianity, but they were tought a different religion, just as you were taught yours.

I want to believe there is something there, but I don't think I'll ever be able to believe in such a God.

There is this guy I know. I have known him for 8 years during this time we became good friends. People use to enjoy seeing up arrive at events together..we are both considered to be the life of the party. The problem is- I use to make jokes about him and he did the same to me. Well Friday he tells me he use to hate to see me coming he described these events as torture. :( I didn't mean to hurt any one. Now I am totally attracted to him. He is so sweet and kind. But, everytime I try to bring up "us" he takes me back down memory lane. The only thing we do now is eye flirt. (Stare into each others eyes) I don't want to jump into anything sexually, but I do want to know where this could lead. We go to lunch together often, but those end in hysterical arguments. Is he interested or am I stalking?

I have heard this preached by various preachers all of life but I have actually found no mention of this any where within the Holy Bible. Just wondering if this has been some scenerio drawn up by preachers over the centuries or if I have actually missed something here with this.

I read in the 1980's how Reagan brought the Evil Empire down by outspending them. The USA, like it has for most of it's history incurred some DEBT. Do you se the Soviets around? This was money well spent.

Of course the LIBS in the 1980's were saying the same things they are saying now "Generations to pay off"! We scaled back the military, and despite Clinton's MASSSIVE tax hikes the Private Sector, BIG BUSINESS, erased our debt in short fassion.

Since Bush took office 9/11, Katrina and the War on Terror have taken place. This costs the government money. Yes, we have debt. Like in the 1980's, this is money well spent and it won't take generations to pay off like the FEAR MONGERS on the left are saying!

Hi all,

My push mower got rained on for about 3 days straight. I went to cut the grass today, and of course the engine is wet. It starts, but runs for about 5 seconds and shuts off.

Anyone see any potential problems, or should it be OK after it dries?

I just seen this in another post and my jaw is still on the floor

I have forgiven many people in my life , I prefer not to hold on to any negative feelings at all
I have forgiven one person who hurt me greatly and yes it took a lot , but I have managed it and feel good
am I secretly a Christian and dont even know it ... given that only Christians can forgive ?
