I dyed my hair today using Clairol's Colour me Vibrant hair dye, with the intention of getting rid of my highlights while maintaining my natural medium brown hair colour. Turns out, the product ended up making my hair black, and it looks horrible.

Is there anything that I could do to fix this? Also, will the colour eventually fade, possibly to a brown that won't look as severe as black? If possible, I would like to lighten it a bit at home, just to the point where it won't look horrible while I'm growing out the die, as in doing zero root touch-ups.

For reference, I used the Colour me Vibrant by Herbal Essences (clairol) and the shade #62, Foxy Brown.

American politicians have been running for President since last year. The election will not take place until mid-November, 2008. That is 13 months from now. By the time the election happens, the politicians will have been campaigning for more than 2 years. The winner will get to be President for 2 years before he/she has to start campaigning again. Doesn't that seem unproductive?
Does the 2 year campaign help to make Americans well-informed? Does it enable them to make sophisticated decisions? Then why did they elect George W. Bush twice?
The rest of the world begged Americans not to make the same mistake twice, but they thumbed their noses at us.
This 2-year election campaign is not going to produce a Great Leader who will lead the United States out of the desert. The next president will be powerless to restore the country to its past greatness.
This is not the time for circuses. The Americans need a strongman to lead them out of the darkness. They need a military coup.

my boyfriend is a great guy, but sometimes he's really nice to me and sometimes he seems distant away. he admits that he's still in love with his ex, even though he does like me in a special way. we have great times together, but once in awhile something would remind him of his ex and he would only think about that.....even when that relationship ended more than 3 years ago....
i really like him, but i can't stand him thinking about another woman when he's with me. he doesn't seem to get better either. i just don't know what to do now.

Al Gore argues through and through that global warming is an issue that needs to be addressed immediately, however he continues to pay $1200/month for electricity, when the average person pays around $120 and he also is seen in his documentary riding in an SUV and a luxury car and in a private jet. Does this seem a little hypocritical to you?

Or he can get up, leave and go home to be with his wife. Gavin turns his back to light a cigarette while the client quietly gets up and walks out of the office. Gavin smiles, calls his own wife, tells her he'll be home soon, and that he loves her, then hangs up, looking out the window.

It just seems to me that if God created every life form exactly as it exists today an there was no evolution...well, it seems like God was pretty sneaky about it, since he made it LOOK like things evolved.

I mean, every mammal (all of which, according to evolution, would have a common ancestor) has basically the same skeletal structure. Skull, backbone, two pairs of limbs...you'd think that if he wanted to spice things up a bit, he might have given a few critters three pairs of limbs. You know, a bird with wings, arms and feet, or something. There wouldn't be any point of sticking with the same old boring framework all the time, would there?

Then you've got things like whales and dolphins and manatees and whatnot. Sure, they've got flippers instead of hand or paws, but the skeletal framework of the limbs is still basically the same. If he just created everything, why bother with all the finger bones and such? All that did was make evolution look like a good possibility.

i had a dream i was putting my security code in and I could not remember the code (in real life i had actually lost my security code). So as the alarm went off I felt like I was falling. I knew I was dreaming but could not wake my self up. I woke up with my head feeling really weird. And my girlfriend said I was screaming.
