American politicians have been running for President since last year. The election will not take place until mid-November, 2008. That is 13 months from now. By the time the election happens, the politicians will have been campaigning for more than 2 years. The winner will get to be President for 2 years before he/she has to start campaigning again. Doesn't that seem unproductive?
Does the 2 year campaign help to make Americans well-informed? Does it enable them to make sophisticated decisions? Then why did they elect George W. Bush twice?
The rest of the world begged Americans not to make the same mistake twice, but they thumbed their noses at us.
This 2-year election campaign is not going to produce a Great Leader who will lead the United States out of the desert. The next president will be powerless to restore the country to its past greatness.
This is not the time for circuses. The Americans need a strongman to lead them out of the darkness. They need a military coup.

This is long but it is worth it if you will please read the whole thing. It explains a lot about who America is.

What is America?

Written by an Australian Dentist

To Kill an American
You probably missed this in the rush of news, but there was actually a report that someone in Pakistan had published in a newspaper, an offer of a reward to anyone who killed an American, any American.

So an Australian dentist wrote an editorial the following day to let everyone know what an American is. So they would know when they found one. (Good one, mate!!!!)

"An American is English, or French, or Italian, Irish, German, Spanish, Polish, Russian or Greek. An American may also be Canadian, Mexican, African, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Australian, Iranian, Asian, or Arab, or Pakistani or Afghan.

An American may also be a Comanche, Cherokee, Osage, Blackfoot, Navaho, Apache, Seminole or one of the many other tribes known as Native Americans.

An American is Christian, or he could be Jewish, or Buddhist, or Muslim. In fact, there are more Muslims in America than in AfghanistanThe only difference is that in America they are free to worship as each of them chooses.

An American is also free to believe in no religion. For that he will answer only to God, not to the government, or to armed thugs claiming to speak for the government and for God.
1.
An American lives in the most prosperous land in the history of the world.

The root of that prosperity can be found in the Declaration of Independence , which recognizes the God given right of each person to the pursuit of happiness.

An American is generous. Americans have helped out just about every other nation in the world in their time of need, never asking a thing in return.

When Afghanistan was over-run by the Soviet army 20 years ago, Americans came with arms and supplies to enable the people to win back their country!

As of the morning of September 11, Americans had given more than any other nation to the poor in Afghanistan Americans welcome the best of everything...the best products, the best books, the best music, the best food, the best services. But they also welcome the least.

The national symbol of America , The Statue of Liberty , welcomes your tired and your poor, the wretched refuse of your teeming shores, the homeless, tempest tossed. These in fact are the people who built America

Some of them were working in the Twin Towers the morning of September 11, 2001 earning a better life for their families. It's been told that the World Trade Center victims were from at least 30 different countries, cultures, and first languages, including those that aided and abetted the terrorists.

So you can try to kill an American if you must. Hitler did. So did General Tojo, and Stalin, and Mao Tse-Tung, and other blood-thirsty tyrants in the world. But, in doing so you would just be killing yourself. Because Americans are not a particular people from a particular place. They are the embodiment of the human spirit of freedom. Everyone who holds to that spirit, everywhere, is an American.

NOBODY ever needs a military coup. Shame on you! Do you know anything about the atrocities suffered by so many people in various countries after military coups?

Some wit once said that "Democracy is the worst system of government ~ except for all the other systems!" Cumbersome and frustrating as it may be, even a flawed democracy does not result in terrible loss of life and dignity, as well as decades of struggle to restore decent civil governance (just look at the example of Spain.)

Sorry you're so disillusioned but the system actually works pretty well. The great thing about a democracy is that when we make stupid mistakes (like re-electing George Bush). We as voters collectively feel the sting of our bad decisions and it makes us smarter next time. It's a slow painful process but it is invariably self correcting in the right direction. The mills of democracy grind slowly but they grind exceedingly fine.

No.

A military coup?

Do you think this is a 3rd world country?

What dictator are we trying to overthrow?

Life ain't perfect here, but I challenge you to find a better place to live.

I could care less what the rest of the world thinks... they are simply a bunch of haters.

On our worse day, it is better here than any other country.

I agree there needs to be reform of the election process.

I vote to spend way less money on campaigns.

The president should work 4yrs instead of 2yrs.

The way I see it...

Huckabee over Obama in 2008.

in case you think of Iran and Venezuela are Democracies, they fooled you. Vietnam's statement "modeled on ours?" ok, if by making use of which you propose "right here we are oppressed, we could have a revolution," I agree the words are comparable. purely concern is, while they have been performed with their revolution they grew to become to communism, no longer a democracy. The Hamas government is a good occasion of a democracy we turn our back on. If the people of a rustic are stupid sufficient to vote a terrorist team into capability, greater capability to them. does no longer propose we ought to do something with them. It jogs my memory of Congress being taken over by making use of the Democrats. Addition: after which you have people who drink the koolaid: <> Yeah precise.

It is very hard for America to shed its politics because it was already deeply embedded in their culture. Campaigning must be followed according to the periods specified on the ELection Law. However, politicians seem to ignore this rule and many are guilty of pre-mature campaigning and nobody is brave enough to formally question the irregularity.

The American electoral system is far from perfect, but it is still the best in the world. We chose George W. and that was not such a great choice. We chose Bill Clinton and that was a poorer choice. We chose George H.W. and that was a fairly poor choice. We chose Reagan and that was a great choice.

However, in each case we chose. Our ability to choose is the best part of it all.
