Actually both are very much emo. But more importantly, they both suck regardless of genre. Plain White T's came out with one of the most hardcore wuss anthems of our time with Hey There Delilah. Typical "woe is me" emo music about unrequited love. To make matters more nauseating the real life Delilah shows up at their concerts parading around in a (you guessed it) plain white t-shirt with the message "I am Delilah." Gag me.
Sookie - True story. I have also seen pictures of Delilah. She is just as ugly on the outside too.

I love plain white t's but I think them and AAR are just thrown into the emo mix cos people are too ignorant to recongnise what it is and things get classed/stereotyped to fast.

Would you stop loving and listening to their music if they could be labeled as emo?
For the record: I think they can be, and they are.
