For the last 2 weeks my mom and dad have been constantly arguing over stuff, and I am getting tired of it. On Friday I stayed at my grandpas and grandmas house because I am sick of listening to my mom and dad fighting all the time. What am I going to do.

Im not talking about the benefits of excercise here,I've been training a long time and as a nurse, I can never extol the benefits of healthy lifestyles and excercise enough.

However, I am talking about the fact that the vast majority of gyms charge on average £30 - £40 a month and do not offer flexibility in terms of being able to take a break for a month or two for injury/holiday/life events, etc.

Its basically a 'sign up for as long as we can keep you and take as much money of you as we can' mentality.

I know there are one or two exceptions, but I'm asking is this a serious barrier to a lot of people (for example those who can't afford it or don't want to be tied down for 12 months or more) and is this causing people to stay away. Since there are no real 'council' or government run alternatives anymore, should the government do something about this?

Just a random annoyance I wanted to get off my chest.

So, I've got no problem with homosexuality. What I do have a problem with, is getting it forced down my throat every couple of minutes (no pun intended). Everytime I turn on the TV, a new gay character is introduced. It does nothing to enhance the story other than to say "we're more tolerant than the other network". Why do I, as a viewer, need to be in the middle of such politics. As a tolerant guy, the random insertion of gay characters (again, no pun intended) isn't going to make me more tolerant, just upset at this manufactured diversity.

It's not just tv, either. It's books & movies as well. As far as I know, REAL tolerance comes from knowledge, understand & acceptance...not from constant immersion. Beyond that we live in this media-led police state where a man will be vilified if he doesn't accept homosexuality. Isn't it that the exact same kind of persecution, but in reverse? Outside of a legal context, why should anybody be told who they should or shouldn't accept?

After years of doing it,I have come to the conclusion it does very very little good, and what it does do is short term.
It also tends to create a situation where ppl stop trying to do for themselves.

Each day is filled with happiness and unhappiness or sadness for everybody in their life. I think happiness and unhappiness can not be seperated and it is in --one Form like a coin- faces of the both sides of a coin. Do you agree.

Every time I watch "simple life", I feel so sad. They get on so well.

I'm looking forward to seeing them chating together, shopping together, drinking together

I really think they should swallow their pride...

(I asked this in Singles and Dating, but I think it applies to Religion and Spirituality, as well.)

When we find someone that we love, we often go to great lengths to prove that love for them. We will sometimes do things that border on insanity. That, to me, is selflessness.

On the other hand, when threatened with the loss of that person from our lives, we will sometimes do things that would never otherwise cross our mind in order to keep them. We do so not for their sake, but for our own. That, to me, is selfishness.

So, I ask...is love an act of selflessness, or selfishness?

We have not told our two wonderful children yet. I have a difficult time sleeping next to him. It hurts. I really want to stay friends but it hurts too much for him to be right next to me. I hope that once all the pain is over maybe it will be better. Help! I have never gone through a separation/divorce before. When does it get easier?

I got a doll for Christmas one year and I had her for a long time. I loved her but I can't remember her name anymore!

She was a hair growing doll that I got during the early 90's...she had long red hair in almost a ponytail and when you cranked one arm, her hair would get shorter and shorter, and then when you pulled the arm down her hair would grow back out to original length. I know for a fact she wasn't a Chrissy doll. Does anyone remember the doll I'm talking about?

Kennedy announced we were going to the moon in the 60s and we took 8 years to do it. Bush announced in 2004 that we'd be back to the moon by 2020. Why does it take so long? Russians and Chinese have announced they will do it by 2025.

So the question is WHY DOES WE TAKE SO LONG to go back??
