–Albert Einstein
• Nationalism is our form of incest, is our idolatry, is our insanity. "Patriotism" is its cult.

• Our hearts where they rocked our cradle
Our love where we spent our toil,
And our faith, and our hope, and our honor,
We pledge to our native soil.
God gave all men all earth to love
But since our hearts are small
Ordained for each one spot should prove
Beloved over all.
–Rudyard Kipling

particular, I pledge allegiance to the flag. As a new child, it develop into because of the fact I had to or the instructor might admonish me in front of the type. As an person, we be able to think of roughly those issues and now i opt to do it. there are a number of stuff incorrect with united statesa., yet there is no place else i might fairly stay. i think of people who hate united statesa. (and that i'm no longer directing this at you in my view) could bypass away. the main concern as I see it somewhat is that anybody is merely too busy and too apathetic to truly get counseled and in touch. working example, first rate Christians have allowed the unconventional religious suitable to color itself because of the fact the sole sort of Christianity in our united states. the rest persons have been quiet and allowed them to push our united states in direction of civil conflict as quickly as we would desire to continually be speaking up. undesirable issues can basically take place while good men (and ladies persons) do no longer something. i did no longer see any answer for the exhaust trails different than that they are merely that--exhaust trails. and that i've got under no circumstances heard the different clarification.

Yes, it is not an idolatrous act. Idolatry is worshiping a symbol, if there is no worship when you or others say the pledge then there is no idolatry.
The pledge is a way of confirming that we are honor bound to be good citizens.

Yes, it is idolatry. Most don't realize it because they are so far up their behinds in "patriotism". That's the new buzz word.
Idols that include flags, statues at the different churches that are prayed to or worshipped to, even money, sex, drugs....all those things are idols.
Good looking out because pledging allegiance to an "idol", a flag is taking pure worship away from God. It is an idolatorous act.
Again, good looking out.

Nope, You are not worshiping it, you are stating that you are a loyal citizen of the country. You are not saying you worship the flag and you are not saying the president is God. There is even the nice little part where you can say (if you choose) that this country recognizes God and Christianity as it's state religion. You can even choose to omit that part too. "Give to Cesar whet is his and to God what is His."

if you were bowing and scraping to the leader of that country and blindly believing everything they say is true, then it could be..
Following like sheep without questioning the consequences, often leads people to break the laws of their own religion and puts innocent lives at risk.
All religions are fallible in that they are self contradictory, leaders have been known to adapt "rules" to fit in with their own actions and lifestyle. At the end of the day, we're all accountable to God, there is but one.

people added the "under god" in the 50's
Pledging ones allegience is just pleding to be an ally, thats all your saying, but yes, if your country is "sinful" you should rightly not ally yourself with it, right?

So no, or yes...it isn't.
