What's your favorite and what do you like to get when you're there?

My boyfriend is a British citizen and he needs to get a passport, but the part about the countersigner stumps him because he doesn't know anyone who can sign for him.
We do know someone who got a passport a few years back and used a barman as a countersigner, but we don't see "Purveyor of Liquid Entertainment" in the list of acceptable signers. Did they get strict or can one ask anyone to countersign?

Suppose you were stranded somewhere and you only had an endless supply of Hostess Apple Pies to eat. Assume you had plenty of clean water to drink, and Hostess Apple Pies have a shelf life of 100 year (even though they don't). buying Sam Harris's book, "Letter to a Christian Nation." I'd been flipping through it, and wondering if there were any rational people in the US. When the cashier was ringing up my purchase, she looked at me oddly and asked, "Are you an atheist?"

I said, "Yes."

I thought she would give me the judgmental stare or something like that (to let me know she disapproved), but instead she smiled and said, "Me too. It's so good to meet another atheist."

And it is, isn't it? One of the reasons I keep coming to Y!A is because there are so many atheists here. Have you ever had an experience like this?
