Since my baby was born I'm looking at baby toys and thinking of what I should buy him. But I can't help noticing that so many toys seem like they are designed to be 'replacement parents'

You get toys that 'read stories' that light up to 'soothe the child to sleep' and I can't help feeling that that is the mum or dads work! Not some battery operated toy! My husband and I are not rich, but even if we were I'd like to think that the job of reading stories and teaching ABC or numbers are OUR job and our baby will be much happier to have our attention to him rather than buying expensive bits of plastic while we devote our attention elsewhere!

Maybe I'm being old fashioned here, but I can't help thinking that it's MY job to teach my son to read and count and soothe him to sleep.

What are your opinions on this?

hey

my ears keep feeling blocked, and i find it hard to hear. strangely enough, it only occurs when i enter the place i work at :p
i'm assuming it's wax build up, and that i should probably go to the doctor. but as it's the weekend i'd like to try some ear drops, but don't know what the best type to use is - any advice?

So I am coming $5 off on my weighted average. I have recalculated it several times got to $1 off then $10 off....I am hoping someone can look at this and see what I did wrong....
Jan. 1 Beg. Inventory 600 @ $44 I calculate $26,400
Feb. 10 Purchased 100 @ $20 I calculate $ 2,000
March 13 Purchased 100 @ $20 I calculate $2000
Mar 15 sold 400 @ $75 I calculate $30,000
Aug. 21 purchased 160 @ $60 I calculate $9600
Sep. 5 purchased 280 @ $48 I calculate 13,440
Sep. 10 sold 200 @ $75 I calculate $15,000

My ending inventory balance is $34,060 and the book says it should be $34,055....

I am off $5 somewhere, everytime I change my calculations I come up with a different balance but never what the book states it should be...Please help

He only got to see the 8 week ultrsound and go to my 12 wk and 15 wk appts bfor he left.
At my 26 wk ultrasound, they couldn't find out the sex of the baby, and they wouldn't print a pic, and I can't get another ultrasound.

I feel bad because he wanted to be here with me for this so bad- we've tried for baby for 3yrs.

He was scheduled to take his R&R around the time when the baby's due, but now he won't be able to take it until 4 months after.
I'll most likely be having a c-section (in December).
He does not have access to the internet.
I only have a regular camera (not digital).

Will the doctors take pix of me and the baby? (No one will be there with me to take pictures).

Can I send a Red Cross message for a birth announcment? (I don't want to get him in trouble).
If I can't send him a message via Red Cross, what are some cute ways to announce the birth and involve him---(via mail, since he doesn't have internet, and he only gets to call once every few months)?

I have long length hair
and its very curly,but im getting it straightened permenetley.
and i really want a fun funky hair cut so i thought scene, but the thing is i dont want it crazy because i dont want to spend lots of time using lots of hairspray and combing. so how should i get it so its fun and funky and has a little feel of scene hair?
