I am having a hard time with my boyfriend being gone. Does anyone have any suggestions about ways to cope? I know the first thing on everyone's mind is to go see a doctor but I have white coat syndrom. So any suggestions that I can do myself would be great. Thank you!

CLOSE friends for years and he's secretly liked me but he never went for it b/c he thought the chances of being w. me were slim only to find out that after all this time, I felt the same way back - I was the first girl he fell in love with (both in our 20's and gave him his first kiss; no sex just kisses) BUT "life challenges" (death) and rumors/assumptions from friends made us drift apart (he pushed me away) and it created tension BUT rather than giving up or seeking revenge, we worked it out and everything is starting to be better than before, the relationship grew (this happened in a 9 month span)

We're in the process of being close friends again...In the beginning when we first met, we "clicked' right away and could be able to talk to each other about anything and everything. We would always see each other in and out of classes, have lunch, and talk to each other almost every night. That was 3 years ago and obviously, THINGS change, PEOPLE change, and we change but it's not that we're growing apart - we're just growing up while adjusting to all this change...
It's different and i get scared that we'll lose our "closeness" but someone told me, "true things are never lost..." CAN WE STILL DO OUR OWN THING AND BE CLOSE? We used to talk all the time and now we don't call each other; not sure if it's a "guy thing" where they stop talking on the phone, we're both busy, or he's changed alot from the his friend's death...i'm sorry i'm just venting - THOUGHTS? I'd really appreciate it! THANKS

This doesn't seem to be just a teen - family blow up and she is not at home presently. Her mother knows and blames her so talking to her mom isn't going to be helpful. That being said...The girl does not want to go home but if she won't tell the police what help is available to her? Is there a safe place this kid can go long term? I know that I can report this to Childrens Services but I really believe that is not going to help because she refuses to tell on the s.o.b. There have been previous reports to Childrens Services of a suspected a problem between the girl and her step father. Childrens Services has been to the home and done nothing every time. Anyone have any suggestions? This girl really needs help. The person she is staying with can't keep her for more than a week due to the apartments policies on visitors. I do not want to see this kid go back to that home but I'm not able to take her in long term either. How can I help her?

It is not the first time someone has said this kind of thing, by far, and I just can't believe that people would rather be dead than enjoy their lives. Is it me, or is this fanaticism?

I used to take Bible lessons from Jehovah's Witnesses who all felt this way, as well. So it seems to be a pretty common wish among Christians.

Approx sixty years ago young people discovered the guitar. Big band swing, all kinds of Jazz, Crooners, etc, were swept away by guitar and drums and the world of popular music has been dominated ever since by minor variations on the theme with the occasional singer/songwriter plus piano.
Is there any chance we will ever see a new music type and a turn away from the guitar?

I'm looking at the protein bovine rhodopsin.

I'm suppose to find out how far the closest disulfide bond is from the methionine end of the protein.

Currently i'm using .... i'm not sure what the site is actually called, but if you google genbank its the first hit.

Using the CN3D program. It shows me 3d view of the molecule and then spits out the amino acid sequence.

Is there a way i can look at the sequence to figure out where this bond is?

Err...do i look for the closest cystein...and assume thats where the disulfide bond occurs...with another cystein.. I'm a chemical engineer not biochemist....i think i learned somewhere years ago that cysteins form the bonds.....but i'm having no luck googling that.
