Symptoms of Rabies in Humans

It takes some time (the "incubation period") before a person exposed to rabies develops symptoms. The incubation period for rabies can vary. It can be anywhere from a week to over a year. . However, it usually lasts about one to two months. The incubation period varies, depending on the amount of virus introduced into the body and the distance the virus has to travel from the site of exposure to the central nervous system (CNS). The closer the bite is to the CNS, the shorter the incubation period. Bites to the head and neck are usually associated with an incubation period of less than one month.

That was 15 years ago, and you would have gotten shots at the time you were bitten i assume. If the dog died 7 days later , they would have tested him for rabies. As far as I know you have to take shots in the stomach for 10 days, and that is the end of it. My grand dad was93 and he had to take the shots. After that he was fine. No symptoms or anything.
I know what it is like to worry, but don't. focus on your life now and making the most of it. Thank God the dog died and you ae still here to talk about it... Good luck and May God bless you.

See what the darn dog got for biting you?
Hee hee hee
I am so sorry, I am making light of your situation. You have to go to the doctor and get a blood test to find out. Rabies affects the brain, it makes the victim crazy and fitful. I'm pretty sure if you're ok enough to ask a question after fifteen years, you don't have rabies...

You might have some emotional scars, though. You remind me of a girl I really liked.

She had a big scar on her face from a dog attack. She sure was nice though

Good luck

If you were bitten 15 years ago, well if you had rabies, sorry but you would have already died.. You are safe.

sounds like the dog got rabies from you. just kidding. did the DR or vet tell you or your parents the dog died of rabies? if not, then the dog didn't have rabies, it died of another illness.

Maybe YOU had the rabies that killed the dog. You better get yourself to a vet!

If you were bitten 15 years ago I can assure you you don't have rabies... unless you're dead. But then it's a moot point, isn't it?

I doubt you have it, if you were bitten that long ago. You would have noticed the symptoms years from now.
