you are alright..... the same thing happened to me...... we weren't trying or anything, we were both in a bridal party, and I go smashed, found out 4 weeks later I was pregnant.
My obstatrician said anything you do before you know you are pregnant is ok...... the featus is quite resilient...
I actually read a true story this week of a woman who went skydiving and her parachute didn't open she leanded front down on the ground and later found she was 12 weeks pregnangt and the baby is perfect!

When I found out I was pregnant I was 4 weeks along, complete shocker I was told I could never have kids, but anyways. I was drunk maybe 8 times out of them 4 weeks, DRUNK, past out and everything, My daughter was born completley healthy and she still is 5 months later, I was worried about it also bc of how much I was drinking, I made sure I stopped! My Dr. said that she SHOULD be just fine and it takes alot more than that to hurt a fetus! They have alot of protection! So just make sure you stop drinking and smoking! And hopefully everything will be just fine. I am not a Dr. but I do know that kids everyday are being born with defects bc of mothers WHO KNOW AND DONT care that they are pregnant, doing drugs and drinking and unprotected sex with muliple partners. It shows great love and respect for someone you havent met or even felt to change your life and make things better for the little miricle growning in your belly! I do hope that you know and understand that birth defects are not only caused by drinking and smoking and other things that you have no control over, If he or she is born with a defect she is still a living and breathing human being and you will love her, or him the same!

Drinking and smoking at any time during pregnancy can do much damage to your fetus. Judging on much you smoked and drank, the baby could be born prematurely with serious birth defects, facial deformities, learning disabilities, even mental retardation. Good thing you stopped when you did, but I would've stopped as soon as I had suspicions (morning sickness) or, assuming this was a planned pregnancy (which I suspect this wasn't,) the time when you planned to conceive.
I suggest you make an appointment with your doctor to see if there's any onset damage, and monthly check-ups to see if there is anybeginning or further damage as the baby develops. Good luck. You are in my silent prayers.

i highly doubt it would affect your baby, especially if you stopped, most women dont know they are prenant til they are about 4-6 weeks pregnant. i smoked and drank too before i found out, but your baby has time to recover, thats what my pregnancy book says and that your baby still has a lot of growing too do so it should hurt as long as you stopped. so dont worry, be happy you are doing what is best for your little one

Birth defects from drinking and smoking are a result of a large amount of drugs or toxins entering into the placenta and into the baby's blood stream. Such a small amount should have no effect on the baby's overall health.

Probably, it won't be a problem. Especially the smoking will have little risk. Drinking might increase the risk of some things, but it's really, really minimal.
There's a little article that should relieve some concerns.
