Why would it?

2007-10-02 18:50:59 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 2 1

No. It made me more of a person. I had my first child at 17 and it was a wake up call. I quit playing around and started taking life more seriously. I went to college (which I thought I would never do) and made a better life than I would have. It is the way that you deal with it that makes you who you are.
I will tell you that there are people out there that will treat you like less of a person. They are closed minded and the hardest part of being a young mom. It is not being a young parent that makes it so hard, but rather the way that you are dealt with as a young parent.

No, but doing so does put a girl at a crossroad in her life. It's at this crossroad a girl must decide what kind of a person she is going to be. It will be this decision which will make the girl less or more of a person then she was before she became pregnant. For her sake and her child's sake, my hope is she will choose to be more of a person.

PS: I really liked Chris A.'s answer! He obviously misinterpreted the question, but nonetheless his answer is correct! LOL! :)

getting pregnant at a young age does not make you less of a person it just makes your life a little harder then it has to be at that time but if anything it will help keep you more focused and you will grow up very fast but it has nothing to do with your character

That depends on the person you are now and how you handle it . Some grow as a person and become a responsible, loving, successful parent . Some don't/ can't/ won't handle it very well and end up failing themselves and their child...Being a parent is not easy at any age, It requires you to be mature enough to be unselfish and make certain sacrifices in your life which are in the best interest of your child..It's not all about "you" anymore. That may be harder for a younger person who is just starting to learn about themselves and what they want to achieve in their life.

No, it means you need to step up and be more of a person. You need to start making responsible choices for 2 people now instead of just one. How young? You need to think about it. If you are pregnant, and feel like you can't do it, and do it right, do what is right for the child. Having a child means you are going to have to step it up, light nights, staying home with your baby, taking care of a child. Lots of responsibilities, but lots of rewards too.

no.
if you are ready to have a baby and can support a baby then go for it.
even if you do not plan to get pregnant at a young age it does not make you any less of a person... everyone makes mistakes though a baby shouldnt be considered a mistake

No. You've made a mistake just like everyone else has. Yours just happens to show up a little better. What makes a person is the choices they make after they've made a bad one. So make good choices for yourself and baby from now on and you'll prove who you really are.

PS Women who carry a baby to term by age 18 have the least risk of breast cancer, so maybe we should all have gotten pregnant at an earlier age. ?
