When the Sun turns into a Red Giant what you you think the Earthlings will do?

Don't panic, we'll have interstellar craft by then. When that big fiery ball in the sky begins to play-up a little, cos the change will be slow, then the little earthlings will drop there guns & bombs and concentrate real hard on the matter at hand. Them scientific minds attached to military projects may also be drafted-in, me thinks

during the red giant phase the earth will be consumed by the expanded sun. so hopefully the earthlings will have already left.

Don't sweat it- A)We're not going to be a red giant- we don't have enough mass in our sun. We'll be a white dwarf. B)This is scheduled for some 5 billion years in the future- make sure you pencil it in on your "to do" list ok?

That would be so fare into the future and things would be so drasticly differant that I don't think that would be a feasable question to answer.
Earth may no longer exist way before then or the planet may be no longer inhabited. Or the planet may be absored into a new conglomeration. We may be so fare away that the light takes centuries to get to us.
