Alright, a couple hours ago I was just working on some things on the computer and a friend of mine sent me a link to a certain website. Not aware of what the website actually was, I clicked the link. To my suprise a pornography site opened, at first glance I felt sick. I only was on the site for less then a minute but the way the women were displayed on the front page doing all sorts of acts and several pictures of women and men having sexual intercourse, to say the least I felt physically ill. Now onto the question, how could any normal person enjoy this filth? Thank you in advance for your answers.

I am a strong believer and understand that --some power is there to govern the universe.
However,The beginning of any religion is the result of a breakaway group, taking shape of a new one.

Crack is like, a whole lot worse than alcohol but I don't have to show I.D. when I buy it. It's a weird world isn't it.

Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. (Genesis 1:9) How could this occur? The same way that the earth-quakes and volcanoes happen today. Everyone agrees that the Hawaiian Islands came to exist by volcanoes; this was but a mere lightweight creation as compared to the great cataclysms of the prehistoric past. Spurred on by the Son of God over thousands of years, the great earth shakers and movers forced huge masses of land to appear above the waters. And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good. (Genesis 1:10)

My dad, 70, was just diagnosed with Liver cancer and is given 3 months more. He enjoyed life (perhaps too much) and I always dreaded this day, and now it is here. I am the eldest and he is always looking for me now, though my sibs have made the travel home. I have finally organized the trip ( I just had a beautiful daughter born 2 weeks ago) and I am expected to tell him that he has not much time left. We all love dad, inspite of his stubborness and unhealthy lifestyle ("those who are not prepared to die are not fit to live" is a favorite saying of his) Im sure dad seeing my newborn daughter would make him so happy. Another question, I am looking forward... is would he welcome hospice care (if available?)

if you're married for less than a year, do you still have to get a divorce when things end?
someone told me 'no, you would just go your seperate ways' but that doesn't seem right, because it's been a proper marraige for 8 months, living together and sharing bills and bank accounts..

I'm thinking about applying for a waitress position at the diner by my house? I know they make good money but I don't know if I would be good for the job, I'm pretty quiet and shy but I'm nice; I don't know if I'm social enough to be a waitress.

It is uplifting and inspires hope to see so many intelligent outspoken atheists online. As I look at this forum and others, I see a groundswell of awareness about the horrors and evil of religion.
I notice that is true in daily life too. Whenever I get the chance to talk to people about it, more and more are admitting that they have questioned the whole issue of "faith" and rejected it.

This question isn't about whether or not either philosophy is best, so please don't argue for or against faith. I am just curious if anyone knows WHY we see so many atheists making their voices heard online, but not in mainstream media?
