Personally, I think that when man focuses so much on "religion" they have less time for God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and the Bible....or for their fellow man. :)

Peace be with you :)

"However,The beginning of any religion is the result of a breakaway group, taking shape of a new one."

I definitely agree with this statement. While religion may unite people with like beliefs, it creates a wider divide between others.

Religions do have the tendency to divide. That can't be helped because religions are man-made. Christianity, in it's true form is not a religion, but a relationship with God, and our relationship with God causes us to unite with others, to love others and not condemn.

Depends on the faith.
If it's one of the revealed religions who consider themselves to be the "one true" religion, they (by definition) that religion would be a divider. In fact, it's very purpose is to divide.
If, however, it is an inclusive religion then it is (again by definition) a religion that would not divide.
Of course, individuals from either may be dividers or uniters.

?????
James 1:27

Any religion (besides believing in Jesus and 100% of the bible is a waste).
Religions do divide (atheists don't unite either).
The first religion was God (started by God).
I'm not sure what you want to ask.

Well......let me answer by asking you this: what did the Inquisition do, unite or divide? The Inquistion is a perfect and classic example of what religion does.
