we fish a man-made lake surrounded by about 100 luxury houses. it is connected to a nearby river by two canals. some people say the fish caught from it (largemouth bass, crappies and catfish) are safe to eat but some others say that, because of the chemicals that people use on the landscaping in people's backyards that can runoff into the lake, it is not safe. i've called the local county health department and they have no information. i don't see how it'd be any more harmful than eating fish from the farm ponds and sloughs here in the california central valley (which people do all the time).

I am very interested to do the Peace Corp, however I think two years would be much too long for me. Does anyone know of an organization where I could volunteer abroad for about a year?? By the way, preferably in Asia, but I am anxious to see the whole world so it doesn't really matter where I go! Thanks!

Instead of using winterizing chemicals (the kit), can one use a triple dose of shock and double algaecide for closing and then put the winter cover on?
I have always used the kit, but found that it is basically the same thing as far as shock and algaecide, but way more expensive to buy the kit.
What do you think? Would it work?

take A note @ 440HZ and double its freq. ya get its octave. but where does this series physically stop? mathematically this doubling will occur indefinalty. but what happens to the physical soundwave when the same fundamental freq(our A 440) is increased to the Khz Mhz Ghz range? Does it stay a soundwave? or is there a max freq of soundwaves?

I'm from a small town in TX. I've tried to get help with social services, but have been denied. My family earns too much on paper. We have a gross monthly income of $2500, but because my husband owes monthly child support of $1200, and our rent and utilities and car payment add up to $1186. We are left with about $14 for food, laundry, and things we need like soap, etc. Everywhere I go for help, turns me away! My husband's child support is for four children. They all live in New York state. We are a family of four, and have tried to get his child support orders modified, but our attempts only made his child support increase. We are really in need of help. Suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks a million for your advice.

In this world of "entitlement", equality will never be realized. Religious people expect certain entitlements based on their religion. Too many minorities expect some kind of entitlement based on their minority status (and more often than not get it). Young people are growing up thinking they are entitled to everything, whether they earn it or not.
My view is, I have earned what I have; I expect and ask for absolutely nothing else. I owe nothing to religion, minorities, or lazy youngsters. If you want something earn it yourself, or deal with not having it. Equality will never be allowed, because someone will come up with a bs excuse as to why they "deserve" something they do not EARN. Feel free to give your opinions, but don't expect others to agree.

Okay. I'm a terrible parent. My 9 month old has always slept with me....and I admit, I loved the bonding. I think however it is causing her to get up more at night, plus she has started to think it is funny in the morning to do things like pull my hair and kick me to wake me up. Is now an okay time to move her to her crib. I feel guilty because this is a problem I caused. What is the best way to transition her? Also, fyi, she was 2 months early, so developmentally, she is probably closer to 7 months!

For the longest time, I have been doubting my salvation...this started a while back st my church, we were having a concert, and thid guy was giving a testamony about his Salvation. He was the choir director, and he said that he felt that he was not saved. He ask God to give him a sign, by his wife walking up to the alter after church. If his wife did that then he was not saved. Well, it happen, his wife went up front, he gave his life to Christ. Now, he said make sure you are saved, because you might think you are saved, but you are not. I started to get scared, and I ask myself, Am I saved? I remember that when I was in middle school I gave my life to the Lord, and I was crying, and I was very emtional. But, now as I heard this guy's testamony, I ask myself that question. I have been depress about this subject. This guy was so into church, but yet he claim he was not saved, he was a choir director! But lately through my doubts , can someone give me advice?

ive known this guy for 10 years were like best friends we hang out a lot nd go to camps together but this year at a 2 week camp he only talked to me once the entire 2 weeks then the next 1 week camp he talked to me but he was rude nd mean during the 1 week camp me,him nd a group of friends played spin the bottle nd everytime he spun it landed on me nd vice vers after camp ended i told him i like him over im nd he said he knew but he wudnt tell me if he liked me or not he said he wud tell me jus not now wut do u think?
