First off, any Religion is susceptible to mind control, money-hoarding, and alienation of its members.

Islam has the Taliban.
Christianity has the money-grubbing televangelists.
Buddhism has the Chinese Government.
Catholics have the covert ring of child molesters.
NeoPagans have had the drug-addled compounds of the 60's and 70's (don't drink the Kool Aid).

So what can we do to prevent our religious beliefs from "going to that dark place"?

In particular, the NYT article states the following: "It's unsettling to think of the world being run by a futuristic computer geek, although we might at last dispose of that classic theological question: How could God allow so much evil in the world? For the same reason there are plagues and earthquakes and battles in games like (WoW). Peace is boring, Dude."

I wanted to say Thanks to all those who politely addressed my question concerning Catholic belief that Mary bore no children besides Christ Jesus. I learned some stuff.

My next question is: What are some PRACTICAL things that Catholics and members of good Bible-Believing Soul-Winning Protestant Churches can work together on in an Ecumenical Manner? I'm talking about the grass-roots level. I won't have anything to do with your new America-Hating Pope.

I actually have two questions. First of all, what are some colleges that do not have the Ivy League title but are just as good? My mom says that Northwestern in Evanston, Illinois is quite good but it is without the Ivy title soI was wondering what were some other very good schools besides Ivys. Also, I was wondering at my chances in getting accepted into an Ivy League school. I am entering my junior year with a 4.0 GPA with all advanced classes and quite a few AP courses. I have slacked off in the extracurricular department. I have 10 years of piano, ski club, a job as a babysitter and at a bookshop, a student mentor, and I am definitely going to get tons of volunteer hours this year. What are my chances? Thanks!

I was in a very abusive relationship. Both physical but more so mentally. My wife was abused as a child and brought those dynamics into the house. I tried everything to make it work. the rules kept changing, she couldn't control her temper or whatever came out of her mouth, and sometimes things would come flying at me. i knew that if i touched her, i would be the one charged with domestic violence. Finally she left. I was relieved at first but notice that i suffered a lot of trauma. i was beaten down emotionally and am just now noticing that my self esteem and confidence really took a beating by staying in it. i was married though so i was determined to make it work. now i'm paying the price. i feel like i was in a war zone now that i'm out of it. what's the best way to get over it?

it is obviously that the person who wants to download for free hasn't got a card..if he had a card..he could have payed whatever they asked for it..if he hasn't the card he cannot pay at least a cent...

Every where I move, from Boston to Maryland, children were divided up by their races? White and Asian is in one school, African American and Latinos always goes to another achool. While some school do bus a little of other races from the city? but is that how they divided in the whole country? Can you include your state if you respond to my question? Thanks

My husband Grew up in California he calls them Tennis shoes. I'm from Wisconsin and call them sneakers. He thinks that the word Sneaker is some old fashioned out of date word or only people from the Mid-West say "Sneakers". I wonder what do most people call them? Also can you tell us where you grew up to determine if it is really where you live that determines what you call them.

Anyone know the history if why we call them Sneakers...It is a wierd word

A) He was a greedy coward and didn't want to go broke from the lawsuits.
B) He was a control freak, so he killed himself, before the government got to him (like they did by executing the food minister)
