Is it for the same reason people apologize to the judge before they are sent to the slammer, sorry to get caught?

Because they haven't accepted Objective Reality, God springs forth from the primitive limbic system of your brain, the last remnants of your reptillion past. The area where our raw emotions reside, including the irrational belief systems.
The 'religious' experience is triggered by deep depression, starvation, near death, or other highly charged situations. The 'born-again' christian phenomena has a scientific basis....yes, your limbic system. Why has man evolved this mechanism you might ask? Simple...it was a survival mechanism of our cave man ancestors to cope with a hostile and unknown universe.
The cerebral cortex is a more recent development. Here is where our rational and logical thought processes take place. It is here that the atheists have found their basis in reality.
In reality, there is no sentient, omnipresent, omnipotent supernatural being, supernatural entity or force....therefore all the inequities and misery of the world will always persist, some will have good things happen to them and some not, some will blame the invisible entity but objective reality wins all the time....no matter how hard some try to get that limbic brain of theirs to work...sorry

People need to find strength in the world they can draw on when they feel weak. God can be that when they need it. They may feel that they will over burden friends with their needs and so they turn to a higher power to lean on.
I dont think the call to god is the same as the appology to the
judge. When many people pray the feel god has seen what they did any how and he can also see if your applogy is truly what you mean. But the appology to the judge can be made but you dont have to mean it becuase he cant read your mind.
Praying is looking inward and asking for the ablity to deal with the hard times. apologzing is nothing like that it is looking to the outside world to give you forgivness you have not yet found in yourself

FEAR of what will happen when they die. That is why there is religion and the Bible and no Eutopia. To be human you have to have the good with the bad to have fellings at all. Thus, you have fear of what will happen when we die. I say don't live with fear of the afterlife. It does not matter what happens I feel because what is important is your life on Earth and the memories you leave behind. If you just be good to others and don't judge them for there beliefs becasue that is what makes them human then that is all you need. As Albert Einstein said "Energy can never be created nor destroyed... only changed" So there you go then.

Both the judge and God hold the same power when it comes to someone's destiny (whether it be immediate or eternally). People assume that both the judge and God can both feel compassionate because of this relationship. Therefore they look for forgiveness from them in hope for some of that compassion.

People turn to God because God is the only approachable friend we have during Hard times. People shouldn't just turn to God during hard times. It should be always.

it is kind of complicated
you see God planted love towards him in our soles when he gave it to us .. so the minute we are born we carry love and need toward God .. that is why humans are worth nothing without a god and even before God send his messengers to us we were looking for a God to worship >>why did we do that ,, who tough us that there is a god or that we need a God ..it because the need to God and the love we have towards him was planted in our soles before we were born and the minute we see our selves in bad times we remember god and find it inside us ..

God is authentic and u cant say that they only turn to God for the period of no longer ordinary cases. U dont understand if Paris Hilton is a Christian or no longer. possibly she in basic terms made it public whilst she grow to be in reformatory! i think of u have not have been given any top to talk approximately God in a advise way! sturdy bye!

it's a last resort...they have tried everything in THEIR power to get out of debt but something keeps happening that puts them back further. We've all been there. Just one financial crisis after another.
So if they are working 2-3 jobs and still can't make the ends meet they resort to a God...the higher power.

bcause that's when they don't have anymore to count on. When they're happy, they find their friends, hang out, go to some parties but when they faced the hard times, usually friends go away and that's when they're in totally lonely moments and need some help. Actually this means that kind of people really believe the existence of God, it just them who usually pretending not to care about God. Hope this answers what u've asked. :D

People look for a "crutch" - an excuse not to accept responsibility. Afterwards, they forget about that crutch and some will go back to doing stupid things again. Some never appreciate a "break" in life when it is given to them.
